Originally this issue wasn't enough to hook me on Harbinger (which I didn't collect at the time) but I did like it better than the last. Some climatic stuff happens. Armstrong's dialog is a joy. Lapham's art is still at it's very hieght. Still not one of the issues of Unity I've worn out from rereading but great none the less. A low 8.

Pretty good, but heavily tied into Unity. You get a better feel for the storyline and Pete's involvement.

8.

Would have gave it a 7 but because Armstrong is in it I'll give it a 8.

Kris is giving birth. Armstrong is being armstrong :D
Several thousand armstrong jrs?
I like how lapham keeps kris's hair messy and gives her zephs body.

Magnus vs erica pierce...why is magnus so cool?????

Gent bent pierce is my new signature!

Question: What pledge was Rai keeping?

"I love him too" - I really like that Shooter was going to make someone gay in the valiant universe. With all the different races and religions, sexualities would have made it that much more real. But not pete :(
Pete and Kris have a thing going. If hes gay that means everything that happened between him and kris needs to be re-evaluated.

I love that XO does whatever he wants. Everyone else has to just accept it because he is a badass

"Im alergic to airforces" is great

All hell breaks lose and Pete goes for Kris..awww

Now this is what Gilad needs to be like. Never say die. A realist. A tactical genius. But not a superman. Yeah, hes strong but its his experience thats key. And what makes that really cool is that we see in EW#1 that he started as the least likely guy to benefit from experience. He was stubborn. but all those years actually taught him something.

Cliffhanger. And we dont get the answer unless we read unity 1 :(

Still a great issue. an 8.5 but i guess ill give it a 9

Now granted, Lapham worked on those books as well with Shooter but I think it was the 'lack' of coloring by Fauntenot. The FIRST pasge is very colorful but I dont know, was a bit bare afterwards.
Yeah I agree, that biggest disapointment was the, quickly followed by the fact that as much as I love unity I love harbinger more and would have preferred more harbinger by itself.

Then again armstrong was so good in this one i wouldnt change it

Hmm, the pledge to both save the world and pay his family's debt of honor towards Gilad comes to mind, but why tell Magnus that? It can't be the pledge to kill Magnus...

solid...kept interest better than 8, lots of stuff going on though...could have made another issue out of all the information...
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

Rai 7 after Rai gets wounded in a dumb attempt to kill Erica, Magnus tells him that he needs to work with them but Magnus also reveals that he killed Grand One. Rai's response:

"For now, Magnus my sword is at your service. After Mothergod has been dealt with, I will kill you. And then I will kill myself."

I'm sure that line about keeping his plegde in Harbinger 9 sounded innocently heroic to everyone but Magnus who knew Rai's double meaning.
