Complete runs of VALIANT 1.0 purchased

Post by Captain Craig »

So the last few weeks I've just purchased off of Ebay complete runs of:
Geomancer
HARD Corps
Visitor

Geo and Visitor arrived last week and I just purchased HC. Have yet to sit down and read them but for the price, $1 an issue or less, I couldn't pass them up. I never did have all of these. I only had a few issues of Geo and Visitor and the first dozen of HC. With Geomancer showing up in new VEI and HARD Corps possibly around the corner I felt it time to sharpen my awareness of these characters.

It was nice flipping through the ole collection at the folks house over Christmas though.

Anyone else having luck finding original VALIANT's on Ebay in runs or otherwise?

geomancer and visitor are at least readable...(IMO)

Hardcorp...the last 5 or 6 floppies are as bad as they get
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

I agree. The end of Hard Corps are the VERY worst the medium can get.

It may be me, but I never minded Geomancer all that much. It wasn't a masterpiece, but Rags art through was decent.

HARDCorps on the other hand is painfully bad. The art is bad in the last five or so issues, and the story degenerates into just plain stupid.

Visitor seems in the middle. Not a train wreck, but a poor 90's Image rip-off.

That's funny you say that. I absolutely hated Rags art. It really turned me off of Valiant.

Rags was one of the better art in the Turok era. It had a flair. While not iconic, it was unique.

I agree with the first part, but I really just didn't like his art. I guess after getting spoiled on early Valiant, I was expecting a certain style.
