There are actually another couple of Gold Key characters that are part of our deal.
I wonder what those might be. probably Dagar the Invincible and Tragg and Sky Gods due to their relationship with Doctor Spektor? I actually wondered why Valiant never used those back in the day, since that could have worked in their concept of multiple time periods.

Very curious to see what Valiant's take on this is. When is their panel at NYCC? It goes without saying that they are going to get bombarded by a lot of ?'s about this. Very interesting...

I just want Turok and X-O to have a crossover at some point - Aric is so lonely... he needs to let off some steam hunting some bio-lizards with his ol' warrior buddy.

Down the line, a series of one-shot crossovers could be nice. Based on the new incarnations I'd say Magnus/Rai, Turok/Eternal Warrior, Dr. Spektor/Shadowman and XO/Solar...maybe with some bookend crossovers via the Faraway/Lost Land

It would be a good way to have these characters interact without vei having to foot the bill for a liscensing deal so hey thats a good way of looking at it

I for one hope VEI exploits this move by Dynamite in any way possible. Dynamite is obviously moving on these properties to capitalize on VEI's success (the poaching of writers just screams opportunism). We all pretty much agree that these won't last long as that is the Dynamite model. I really think VEI could maneuver this to their advantage with Dynamite eating the cost and taking the risk.

Disappointing....that's what I felt when I read Gold Key to be Revived at Dynamite. This is the Dark Horse relaunch all over again.

it's a shame, that it's not happening at valiant. that's the "still".

all those "we're better off without those characters"-slogans, they're not worth anything the time you realize this chance has now passed up for good. and when you see how cool new versions of the gold key characters could turn out. also, solar and especially magnus have really strong concepts and a rich and ancient history which could have give vei a certain weightiness (if this makes any sense)...

however, i will give those dynakeys a shot.
Yeah that's what I've been sensing from the board recently. If VEI wanted to tell these kinds of stories they can just use their existing characters, or better yet create new ones, to fill these specific story niches (Mirage/Spektor, Magnus/Rai, etc.)

Honestly I think they look pretty damn good, I'm not crazy about the way Turok looks (he looked way more BA in VH1) but these titles look promising, and they've got great talents attached I'm down to check them out.

This deal was done before SDCC so most of the industry has known. I don't know if VEI bid or not, I would think not. They really don't need to develop someone else's IP's when they have their own.

As usual, DF probably has ulterior motives, but who really cares. I don't foresee a collaboration between the two company's, but stranger things have happened.
I am selling "nothing" on ebay-yet.

There is no Valiant/Gold Key crossover in the works, FYI. Not sure why it was floated earlier today. Great casting, though.
Black Science. Lazarus. Birthright. Saga. Manifest Destiny. Deadly Class.

Glad to hear this. VEI are proving themselves, so continuing in the vein they have established is surely the best approach.

The risks and business challenges of a hypothetical crossover would surely be significant.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month
