Coincidence?
Does anyone else have any suspicions that the apparent demise/hiatus/whatever of the Dark Key line of comics and today's announcement that VEI will be publishing soon is not a coincidence?
These happened too close to each other to be random, in my humble opinion. I mean, VEI hasn't reported ANYTHING in over 2 years (if not longer). Why now?
Would not be surprised if VEI gets ahold of the Gold Key characters.

It is strange for sure! VEI could have done it out of spite after watching the Dark-Key #'s to dwindle and waited for the perfect moment. I'm sure there is plenty of bad blood between the two. DH Editor, Chris Warner, has announced (through email) that the Dark-Key Line is NOT dead. It will be taking a hiatus and more details on the subject would surface in Dark Horse Presents #2!

I refuse to pass judgement until I see more of FP. I know Johns has said this has been in the works since DC first decided to bring Barry Allen back to the DCU, so it's not like this wasn't thought out for a while.sanman wrote:I think it’s more likely that VEI made their announcement because the DCU is about to go down the crapper--Dino wanted to throw DC fans a lifeline.

That it's a holiday week and DC just made a huge announcement may have been part of the reason to announce this week as well. VEI's announcement wasn't really that big (no details), so doing it this week with all the other stuff going on was probably a good idea to keep it somewhat low key.

In my opinion I would say the percentage of Jim back with VEI is about .000000000001%.iggy101us wrote:It would be a conspiracy if Jim Shooter announces that he's leaving Dark Horse to join VEI at SDCC (which I don't think will happen).jbtheo wrote:You're all probably right.
