Doesn't that make it a sequel? I mean... even the time hopping is an extension of dimension hopping from the "first" one. I'm not certain, but I'm just saying.Knightt wrote:I do not believe so. It appears to be taking the better parts from SD and playing on that. (I thought the Noir sections were pretty good as well with the 2099 sections being the best)
On the other hand, this opens up room for a great talk about what really makes a sequel. For example, some people actually consider the Ghostbusters video game (from '09) more of a sequel to the first movie than the second movie was. Some people only view something as a sequel when it directly plays off the story from the earlier installment.
What do you guys think?
Ok, sure... whatever floats yer boat.

I played around with Shattered Dimensions last night for a while, got past a snag (exceptionally long Sandman level... EXCEPTIONALLY long) and went into another Noir level against the Vulture (dude is CREEPY in the Noir world). The game really does have some good points and here is to the new game being even better... I do feel like I play the game JUST to get to the Spider-Man 2099 levels though and not just because it is a DU thing. The 2099 levels look really nice.

I thought the Noir levels were a bit irritating, while the 2099 stuff was pristine!Knightt wrote:I played around with Shattered Dimensions last night for a while, got past a snag (exceptionally long Sandman level... I agree they are irritating and the stealth mechanics were way too sensitive but I narrowed it down to 'move around until you receive a 'take down' notificatio' to get through the level'.IMJ wrote:I thought the Noir levels were a bit irritating, while the 2099 stuff was pristine!Knightt wrote:I played around with Shattered Dimensions last night for a while, got past a snag (exceptionally long Sandman level... The entire game could have been 2099 quality and I would have been so much happier. The four different art styles was a pretty nifty idea though. Still, I would really like a 2099 game in total because it looked so damn pretty.
Maybe we will see something like that in the 'future' as well.
Just as a follow up to my Iron Man statement... I bought Iron Man 2 (again) for the 360 and am enjoying it much better this time. I mean, 'hell its IRON MAN !!!'IMJ wrote:I know it...Knightt wrote:If an Iron Man game looked that cool it would be $#it hot !!!
To date the best Iron Man game we got was in the Game Boy Advanced! I've got it via emu....
It's pretty much Contra or Mega Man in Iron Man skins. It's simple and it rocks.

I think the reason why Spider-Man 2099 looks to play an important part in the Spider-Man: Edge of Time is because Peter David is writing it.IMJ wrote:Doesn't that make it a sequel?
