Just a quick question for anyone who read anything from this dead universe. Did any of the Comico books crossover with each other or were they just self contained in their own books? I know alot of people don't care for this when companies do this but I prefer my dead universes that way or at least refer to characters in the other books. :thumb:

I don't think there was much crossover with these books, but I didn't read most of them.

I have the first Grendel in Primer 2, Grendel 1-3, Grendel 1-40, Devil's Vagary, Mage 1-15 (Grendel was a back up in some of these, both by Matt Wagner), and Black Book 1.

It is a fairly isolated universe, the only things I can think of are the Justice Machine/Elementals stuff, Monolith, Fathom, Vortex and Morningstar are all Elementals books btw. For anyone who cares and doesn't know Elementals is written (and for about 20 issues, ILLUSTRATED) by Bill Willingham, of Fables fame. Lots of good stuff. Also lots of bizarre sex and lingerie specials. But that's why we collect DU's, to get bizarre crap we normally would never buy (or to make excuses for stuff we'd buy anyway).

If you plan to collect Thor and Daredevil as thoroughly as you do DU's, note before beginning that each of them has at least one Marvel Masterwork edition is the $200 range, and several Masterworks with several different editons. Not to discourage you, I did find both of their expensive variant Masterworks at 20% off of cover when the Thor volume regularly ebayed for about $150 and the DD for about $100. But they are very tough to find still. I'm not at home to check and too lazy to look it up, but I believe those versions are in the ballpark of 600 copies each. If you are just talking issues, DD is a great one to go for based on what I have picked up by your posts of your collecting habits. You can get such a large chunk of the run for next to nothing. The Miller issues have all dropped significantly except for 158 and 168, and you can often find quite nice deals on 2-6 and 8-10, which doesn't leave many super pricey books.

Whoops, posted that before my Thor commentary. Thor may be a rough one to get in completion if you are not willing to spend some decent cash (assuming that you plan on starting with Journey into Mystery #83, not Thor #126). But it is one of my favorite SA Marvel reads. Loads of great Kirby, Galactus appearances, and eventually a bunch of great Simonson, and supposedly the Jurgens stuff is good but I haven't read it yet. Great book, but expensive. Especially for a completist who values condition.

I have a few of those too Knightt. I collect Star Blazers. I loved the cartoon when it was on TV in the 70 s. I thought the space cruser Yamato was cool.
