Single favorite cover of all time (Not VALIANT)

Sorry if this has been done before. I was just wandering around on the CGC forum and I see a lot of artist appreciation threads so I figured I would ask here.

What is your single favorite cover of all time and why? Only one pick.

My pick is Supergirl and the legion of superheroes 23.

I am a cover collector and an Adam Hughes fan. It is the only book that truly mesmerizes me when I look at it. I have some really cool and rare covers in the collection but this one takes the cake.

This is a really hard choice. Only one... :hm:

I'll have to go with this one- lots of nostalgia attached to it and besides the fact that it is absolutely gorgeous and the cover of the first issue of my all-time favourite story, it told you right away that this book was not your regular comic. It felt Important, lacking a better word. One absolute classic cover.

New Teen Titans #39 as it captured pivotal character decisions in a single image with a lot of white space.

I loved that Turner studios run on Superman. In hindsight, that was a great window of time for DC, who was making an effort to put high profile artists on their big two books again. When companies do that, I buy titles I wouldn't have otherwise bought. Although I think Talent Caldwell did the actual interior pencils, no?

My wife and daughter decided to have "Painting Day" a couple of years ago, so I had the opportunity to paint anything I wanted.

Here's what I chose... I was looking at scans on my phone and trying to draw what I saw. I got the perspective wrong, but I'm pretty happy with it for an afternoon of killing time. :D

Image

Someday, I'll put a stencil of the logo at the top.

Why? I decided to become Superman when I was two. Then I was Superman when I was 5.

Image

That was before I knew what a comic book was. Once I started collecting, well, the best comic ever is Action Comics #1... for obvious reasons.

I have a similar story. I'll bet that most of our generation, plus or minus 4 years has a similar story. Christopher Reeves was Superman for a generation of kids - like you said - before we knew what a comic book was.

Your costume is great - especially with the "Hyperion" belt! The closest to a Superman costume I ever had was one of those old vinyl Halloween costumes with the hard plastic, half masks that would scratch your face if you put it on the wrong way lol! But in off-seasons from Halloween, I used to take one of my Dad's blue dress shirts and tie the arms around my neck with the rest down my back as a cape. I used to jump off the couch and run through the house "flying".

My cape is a red towel. I think those are just solid red socks, too... not official "pajama boots". :D

Since he can't point it out for himself, I'll point out his name was Christopher Reeve.
It's just coincidence that the 1950s Superman on T.V. was George Reeves. :P

You should know that the instant I read "My cape is a red towel", I honestly fist pumped and exclaimed "yes!" while sitting at the computer... hahahaha

I have seen a few photos of me wearing the Superman costume (it wasn't Halloween, that was a regular thing I wore around the house) and I never smiled in any of the photos. It was serious business.

New contender for best cover. I just picked up a Wonder Woman 38 Finch variant. It’s a beauty! I don’t know if it beats Supergirl LOSH 23 but it is in the top four along with Superior Spider-Man 20 Campbell Variant and Harley Quinn 1 Hughes.
