Collected edition prices

Post by StarBrand »

Man. A few hundred bucks for the Iron Man omnibus I want. I wish I’d gotten into this earlier. I had to stop reading Amazing Spider-Man until the next omnibus is released because of the cost of the next few Masterworks I need. I don’t read online. Just a bit surprised at the cost of some collected editions.

How much were these originally?

It seemed crazy to me when I saw them selling for $200+, but if they were $50 to $100 originally, that's not a great increase... more like a $4 book selling for $10 later. Not crazy.

You make a good point, and I actually don’t know how much they were originally. I wish I’d paid attention back then.

I bought all three of the vol 1 Iron Man Omnibus variants when released. I still have two of the three variants in the shrink wrap new. I've considered listing them because the market has been so high, but I can't bring myself to dump Iron Man stuff I don't have multiples of.

I never did buy the volume 2 Omnibus, but I've collected the Gold Edition Masterworks books since the beginnings, so really I'd only buy that 2nd Omnibus out of completion. It's ridiculous too because I've basically got full Iron Man runs nearly in triplicate, probably all of the trades up to a certain point, and all of the volumes on digital media in various ways too.

Completion. But then... it's not completion without that vol 2 Omnibus.... ah hell...
