Attending a N. Gaiman event: what to get signed?
He's coming to Arizona on April 1st. I've got most of the Sandman issues and a platinum version of Death the High Cost of Living in great shape. I have his first 2000 AD work and the cool Last Temptaion comics. If you could get anything signed by him after one of his awesome discussions what would you bring?

He does special things in each of his novels: Anansi Boys he draws a spider, he and Terry Pratchett had a two part setup (mine will never be completed...) for Good Omens, usually writes "Mind the Gap" in Neverwhere, draws various religious symbols in American Gods, etc.
He really is a gracious guy.
Sandman 1 is a great one to get because he remarks the face with eyes.

The CD cover to Neil Gaiman: Warning Contains Language would a nice pick if you want something offbeat signed plus it not that big or heavy.

Neil Gaiman is always gracious at signings. It is usually the host of the event that puts limits on number of items signed. One bookstore I went to had a reading from his newest book followed by the signing. You could get 2 items signed that you brought and up to 5 additional items bought from their store.

I would get a Sandman #8 Karen Burger Editorial variant if you have one, mega rare Sandman book signed

Vertigo Preview #1. It's got an exclusive Sandman story not reprinted elsewhere. Probably hasn't signed too many of those.

Re: Attending a N. Gaiman event: what to get signed?
Just some more stuff:
Angels and Visitations a hardcover book that is collection of short prose stories and poems that CD I mentioned earlier most of it is Neil Gaiman reading some stories and poems from it.
Signal to Noise a graphic novel that is about an aging film director well past his prime trying to get a final film made, it might be out of print or one of those it's jumped through so many publishers it's hard to remember. I THINK the copy I got was published by Dark Horse.
Mr. Punch a graphic novel that is weird. Vertigo originally published it but I recall seeing Dark Horse reprinting it.
Spawn #8, Angela #1-3 and if you can find one mint in the box the original toys of Angela and Medieval Spawn. I'm not sure how he would feel about them given all that has happened between him and Todd McFarlane his reaction might be worth it.
1602 his crazy alternate universe of the Marvel Universe is still one of his most interesting works even if was done to take McFarlane to court.
Miracleman: The Golden Age HC and ask him if he is ever going to finish the second and third volumes.
Babylon 5 season 5 episode list from the DVDs he did write an episode of it.

Maybe a nice 1st edition of American Gods, with the TV show coming out that might a good idea.

Your chest of course. ;P
Very jealous. When I saw him talk a few years ago he didn't do a signing. Fantastic event tho.
