I like to see more work from Micheal Golden, he's IMHO one the most under-rated artists out there.

That's awesome! I'm more excited for the return of ROM, but that's... Enticing...

Very cool that Christos Gage is writing ROM, I see they listed Chris Ryall as a writer as well. :thumb:

Ryall tweeted a week or two ago that he got Sal Buscema to do a cover art piece for the new book. :thumb: :thumb:

In the case of Micronauts, I think Bill Mantlo was the only writer who could handle those characters. I suspect the same will be true of ROM.

I loathed Mantlo for years after I found out that he was partially responsible for the ruination of Howard The Duck and who's ideas were used for the awful 80's film adaptation. But once I sat down and read Mirconauts and Cloak & Dagger, I figured that he couldn't be all bad

Sadly I highly doubt that he'll be returning to write any new stories, because IIRC Bill Mantlo was hit by a car years ago and suffered permanent brain damage. :(

ROM is getting a zero issue FCBD treatment! Check out the link, the cover art is looking pretty sweet;

Even crazier news - though this is a passing mention at best & not something to hang your hat on, it seems Paramount/Hasbro intend to build on their own "toyline cinematic universe" and are including ROM in their plans!

It only makes sense. Look at what Marvel and DC have done (not to mention Fox's X-Men and Alien/Predator).

I could see The Transformers and ROM being in the same universe and MAYBE The Micronauts in the same movie universe. I can even see G.I. Joe and M.A.S.K. being in the same movie universe. I don't see how all 5 (or 6 counting Jem and the Holograms) in the same movie universe would work. :| :| :hm: :hm:

Then again maybe I'm just getting old. :oops:

According to the article ROM will be gracing the covers of several IDW comics in July. The only other ROM variant cover I've seen was to The Transformers: Till Are One which is kinda funny. I haven't seen any for The Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, The Micronauts, My Little Pony, Star Trek, The X-Files, and etc.
