What is the best comic store online?

Post by buff-beardo »

Hey everybody. Shopping online to fill some holes in my comic collection but I am struggling to find a site that has the issues I desire at a reasonable price. I am hoping members/viewers of this site may offer some suggestions on their favorite comic stores online? I have tried milehigh, mycomicshop, and midtowncomics.

Midtowncomics and TFAW.com are great. Mycomicshop.com is crap.

It depends on what you're looking for. I use mycomicshop.com all the time to buy midgrade books that can be fairly hard to find and are cheap.

I recently placed an order to mycomicshop for an overseas friend and the package just arrived missing a comic and they sent the wrong printing of a comic I ordered and they still charged me on the higher price on a 2nd print comic.

I only use them as a last resort and they always disappoint.

Ed, from Collectors Paradise, is a member of this board and has been AWESOME in helping us completists on the board with a small local LCS to get the variants we want and can't otherwise get. Give them a shot!

I like Mycomicshop.com, but I have heard a lot of complaints about the condition that books arrive in from other people. I use them because as long as all the pages are there I don't care about condition.

I have made about 10 large orders with mycomicshop this summer expanding my collection and each and every package arrived in great condition. I felt the prices were fair when you take into account how convenient it is to order with them compared to finding stuff at Cons or ebay.

So for what it is worth I recommend them personally.

I never did put in an order with them but I always thought that Newkadia.com was worth a look.

Just got a mycomicshop order in yesterday and didn't have any problems with it. The outer box was banged up thanks to the USPS, but the books themselves were undamaged. The thing I can see being unpopular is the fact that they don't bag and board your books unless they're over a certain price point. I got an Acclaim X-O #10 that had a lot of color rub on a white cover, but I just mainly bought it to try and complete the run. Plus, if it's under $1.00, I'm probably not going to have much of a problem.

I've also bought from milehigh in the past, but I stick to recent stuff with them. Start going back too far and I think they start massively overcharging.

I give MileHighComics props since they've done awesome on my orders for the passed few years. Better graded books and packaging. That's been my go to spot even if it's a few bucks more on some things. I'd rather pay more there than waste money on mycomicshop.com. And they pay better when selling to them too.
