Hey all,

I know that GL and "Blackest Night" have been discussed, and this very well may have already been listed somewhere...BUT...

I really want to read Johns' big GL story once Blackest Night is finished. Would I be able to get a complete story by getting the following collections, and if not...could you recommend a list of what collections I should get to get a nice story?

- Green Lantern: Rebirth
- Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War, Vol. 1
- Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War, Vol. 2
- Blackest Night (mini-series collection once it's released)

Thanks all!!!

There is also the Green Lantern main title after rebirth.

Yeah, I wish I was on the ground floor with that...

I guess i'm wondering...if I end up just buying the intended "trilogy" of Rebirth, Sinestro, and Blackest Night...will that be enough of a story?

Agent Orange
Rebirth
Rage of the Red Lanterns
Secret Origins
No Fear
Revenge of the Green Lanterns
The Sinestro Corps War, Vol. 1 & 2
Wanted Hal Jordan

I started buying the Blackest Nights monthly comic books

I thinks that's it. I also have the GL Corps Trades, but haven't read them. Picked them all up at a comic shop in Florida last vacation.

If you are looking for background on GL way before BN, check out Emerald Dawn. I read it not knowing too much about GL and I really liked it.

Yes there was an Emerald Dawn 1 & 2, both mini-series.

Didn't they try to establish that in trying to find a person without fear, the ring actually removed the fear from Jordan? I on't think that interpretaion lasted however. It has been awhile since I read those.

I don't know about that but they did choose Jordan over Guy Gardener purely because Jordan was closer.

I would add these comics too if you're getting into the GL run:

- Green Lantern Secret Files & Origins #1
- Green Lantern Corps Mini series and the latest ongoing run
- the "Stories from Alan Moore/DC Universe" trade collects a few of the old GL stories that Geoff gives nods to for "Blackest Night". And there a "Planet Mogo" story in there too.

It's alot of comics but it's worth it when reading the run from "Rebirth" on.

I think the "Corps" monthly is essential reading for the GL run. Not sure how they are collected among the trades.

I will pick up some of the trades you mention.

The current Corps is all collected in trades, although some of them appear in the GL trades when they were essential to the story being told.

Probably....I haven't read any of the Sinestro stuff. BN is making sense to me.

Remember to try your library if you'd care to save a buck or two!

His first 2 years of Hawkman were good too. The series went downhill after he left it.

And Booster Gold was good.

More or less anything with a Green Lantern in the title from the last 4 or 5 years is worth buying. The current GL series was great even before the Sinestro Corps event came along.

Quoted for truth. Don't sell the Green Lantern Corps series short either, as it is just as important, especially when you get to Sinestro Corps Wars, and in some instances, I was enjoying it more than the regular GL series.

Everyone's thrown a lot of GL titles at Jonesy, but I haven't seen the specific order. I believe it's currently:

Rebirth
No Fear
Revenge of the Green Lanterns
Wanted Hal Jordan
Sinestro Corps War vols. 1 & 2
Tales of the Sinestro Corps War
Secret Origin
Rage of the Red Lanterns
Agent Orange
Blackest Night

For GLC:
Recharge
To Be a Lantern
The Dark Side of Green
Sinestro Corps War vols. 1 & 2
Ring Quest
Sins of the Star Sapphire
Blackest Night

I'm behind myself, so a couple of these may be off.

GYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Lol...

I realize that i'm probably going to have to throw down some money to read these books...

Once I complete my Valiant reading set, I will probably focus on some GL goodness. The catalyst for my renewed interest of late?

...I bought a set of all the different colored rings at a local comic shop for dirt cheap...now I want to know everything 'bout the Emotional Spectrum!
