What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Has anyone read Animosity from Aftershock Comics? It's not available on Comixology Unlimited so I wanted to ask before I spent money on it.
It is worth reading since it is a new concept. I read the entire series on my iPad during this lockdown. I wouldn’t go as far as buying the floppies but if you can get it online cheap it is worth reading. It is a fast read.

Thanks! It looks like there are three hardcovers collecting the story thus far and I ordered the LCSD one for $16 shipped so I guess I'll start there and see how much I like it. The other two hardcovers look to be about $30 each.

I’ve been meaning to read that series for quite some time - an old friend of mine did a ton of covers for that comic! I’d be curious to find out if his covers are in those collected trades or not.

They never paired up, but Byrne did draw the cover for #359, which is in the midst of PAD’s run. I was referring to all the tremendously talented artists who worked on the title from #300 up to the end of Vol. 1, which is about 30 issues prior to PAD’s start. As you’re probably aware, Byrne wrote & drew 314-319!
Aah, gotcha. I didn’t *think* they’d actually collaborated on an issue, but it’s been so long, I couldn’t be sure. I’ve got all the issues you mention, but I’d also forgotten Byrne’s were so close to the start of David’s run. Some day, when I get a mansion, I’ll have easier access to my comics. Heck, forget the mansion, I’d love to have a basement! (most of my comics boxes are crammed in the bottom of closets and not easy to access.)

I'm still reading everything Valiant, but the books aren't as good as they once were and I'm contemplating dumping them. The big surprise is I've been buying everything Zenescope for at least a couple of years and I'm thoroughly enjoying most of these books. DC's Hill House books have been solid. I'm also buying Metal Men, Shazam, Doctor Aphra, Cimmerian, and numerous books from Kickstarter. I enjoyed the recent X-Men reboot but the bulk of the mutant line has, predictably, crashed and burned.

I used to be a HUGE Zenescope fanboy, but fell off the line around the time Pat Shand left the company. Since then I've only picked up a handful of the miniseries. (Almost always Robyn Hood.)

Currently, I'm reading the Funeral for a Friend arc of the Superman books. Saw the "Reign of the Supermen" movie and decided I wanted to read the comics. And I also have the entire VH1 run of Dr. Mirage on my tablet begging to be read.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

I just read the Absolute slipcover edition of Batman Year One. I picked that off the spinner rack back in 1986 every month, and this is the first time I read it since then. Absolutely fabulous!

I just finished the Watchmen tv show. Outstanding!

Continuing the Boom! Horror books:

Once and Future (Cool take on Arthurian and other legends meets Supernatural/Buffy)

Something is Killing the Children (Great horror story with a compelling lead character. Just starting to build out it’s larger world)

The Red Mother (A bit slow paced but keeps you hooked. Reads like a horror film)

King of Nowhere (Bit trippy with more fantasy elements than the others, but hooked me right away)

Really enjoying all 4.
