What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

What I'm doing right now to get caught up is read my books during the day and comics at night in bed. It's actually working out pretty good this way.

I've read a great deal of the Marvel Conan stuff. I like it, but the Dark Horse stuff is MUCH better.

So you like the DH Conan better than Marvel's BWS Conan?

Yes.

I ranked DH Conan as my #3 best Desert Island comic run. (Sandman and Fables the only thing better)

WOW. I guess you do like it :)

I like them too, but prefer the original BWS stories better, but not by a large margin. I would put the BWS run as a 9, and the Nord DH run as a 8. So we're pretty close there.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo vol. 1 HC Good art and a good adaption I guess, (I have seen both versions of it but I've yet to read the novels).

I keep meaning to read this. Too many comic books to read is a good problem to have, though.

I just hope that Jupiter's Children won't be constantly late like so many Millar's other books i.e. The Ultimates, The Ultimates 2, Nemesis, and The Sceret Service.

Just read the Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul TPB. Not bad. Since it was a crossover, the different artists kind of took away from the story, but overall it was okay.

Read DCs Kingdom Come series again for the first time in 20 years. The dark writing left me wanting more. I didn't love or really feel for anyone. The beautiful Alex Ross art was offset by really crappy "futuristic" hero designs. I wonder if Alex designed all of those terrible looking costumes?

Hawkeye. I am cutting down all the Avengers titles even if I like them because I am making way for the new VEI titles. But Hawkeye, Daredevil and Uncanny X-Men will remain in my pull.

nscc wrote:Thanks to the people on this forum (and probably this thread), I have read some image and DC titles

Invincible - read from 1 - 96 over the last while. Loving it!

TWD - just getting started on a borrowed compendium v1. Expecting to love it as well.

Saga - Finished first trade, i'm wanting more, gonna have to hunt down some issues maybe as second trade isn't out until june or something.

Swamp Thing - Great, I've not read much, but I am digging it so far.

You've picked some really great stuff. If you want to try more, I'd recommend Chew from Image and Aquaman from DC.

Just read Chew 1-10 and its great.

My plans are to read some of the following over the next bit...

Aquaman from DC
Animal man from DC
Dial H from DC
Wonderwoman from DC

Gonna read the hickman avergers titles... so far really liking superior spidey, thor, and the 2x FF books, hawkeye, all new x-men, hulk from marvel. I was thinking I would only end up likin one or 2 to keep, but since there are so many... it's gonna have to be TPB/HC from amazon/chapters.ca I think.

From Image, still haven't finished too much of TWD yet, but its great too :)

Manhattan projects is great, nice and weird, just how I like it. From posts here, it sounds like it gets even crazier as it goes, so can't wait to get 2nd trade and up. :D

Also read The end times of Bram and Ben. its the mini by james asmus (the Q+W writer). I read through the first issue and enjoyed the humor and his writing, so woooooo hoooooooo, excited for Q+W now. My only complaint is I borrowed the issue from a friend to read quickly, and want to read it again but hes like 40 mins away lol :)

I think thats it!
Where are we going and why am I in this hand-basket?

Bedlam tpb. This is the first book I've read in one sitting since I KIll Giants. Not saying it is on the same level, but it kept my interest just as well. It is a lot like a clockwork orange if the joker was the main character.

Riley Rossmo is a genius and one day people will recognize that. The character design on Madder Red is probably the best designed villain in years and years. Too bad he is off the book due to creative differences. I'd love to see him do a cover for VEI. He might come up with something that could top the Lemire Harby cover. Shadowman or Bloodshot or Rai would be awesome.
