I just got this one from FedEx today! This appeared in “THE AMERICAN” magazine in 1949. Original art by Walter Baumhofer
The piece is huge! I put the original magazine in which it appeared, next to it, so you could get an idea of the size!
You can check out my new website www.pulpillustrationart.com to see other pulp covers and their original art side-by-side

and the art as it appeared in 1949

My movie prop collection
This is an original prop menu from Jack Rabbit Slim's the fictional restaurant in Pulp Fiction. Shown with a still from the movie with Uma Thurman holding a menu. Notice the "Five Dollar Milkshake"

A business card from THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS starring Michelle Pfieffer and Jeff and Beau Bridges

A miniature from the ABC tv series "The Greatest American Hero". This model was used for a flying sequence where our hero catches the villains as they try and escape in their van and then he flies them to jail
As you can see, the budget for the show was hugeeeeeeee
A menu from the Bulldog Cafe from the movie THE ROCKETEER

This is Kate Beckinsale's ferry ticket from the romantic comedy SERENDIPITY also starring John Cusack

This is my prized possession!!! A "screen-matched" helmet from the battle of carthage in the movie GLADIATOR. This was the ACTUAL SCREEN-MATCHED helmet worn by Djimoun Hounsou. You can see in the split-screen how the scratches and marks on the helmet match the helmet actually worn perfectly

This is one of the bugs from the banquet scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

These are 2 of the coins that Lao Che gives to Indiana Jones in the opening sequence to Temple of Doom, in exchange for the remains of Nurhachi. Of course Indy wants the diamond, Lao!

This is a reproduction. This is a copy of the snowglobe that the villain Top Dollar held in the Brandon Lee film THE CROW. As a tribute to Brandon, I had the propmaker add the word LEE to one of the tombstones

This is the interior to Cracked Magazine #181. I was very excited to find this last week on EBAY for just $43 per page! I used to LOVE this show! A parody of The Greatest American Hero.

Notice the appearance of Superman in the lower right panel!

This is the cover to the magazine, which I hope to own one day!
If anyone has a lead on it, let me know!

I added a new prop to my collection.
Danny Trejo's knife from DESPERADO.
There is a small hole at the tip of the blade and the end of the handle so that fishing wire could be thread through the knife and it would travel the length of the wire and appear to enter the actor's body. There is tar on the tip on both sides of the blade which was used to help the blade stick to a piece of wood which was placed underneath the actor's clothing.

Here's a couple cool items I just added to my "Three Investigators" collection. Just arrived from Denmark! These are the Danish book covers to Coughing Dragon and Flaming Footprints by artist Peter Madsen. Done in 2000 and 2001 respectively. In Denmark the books are known as "Alfred Hitchcock & de tre detektiver"

I picked these up at Comic-con 2010
Mark Texeira Moon Knight #2

Geronimo Jones cover issue #7 - Charlton Comics (I never read nor seen this comic before, but the price was pretty reasonable I thought for a 70's cover ($350) and it reminded of a cool Luis Dominguez, plus I liked the spooky old house ... this was just an impulse buy)
