Not the greatest pictures, but here's a favorite part of my collection, the first 25 issues of my complete run of Cerebus:

I'll post other stuff as I get a chance.

I'll also post some that were in the "show your hoard" thread (because I'm too lazy to scan more).

some last issue goodness, just picked these up today, all were less than $4 except for the Star Wars #107, which was $18 for a strong NM copy.

On another comic related message board, we were discussing a giveaway comic that some shops had, a Hancock (the movie) comic book. It wasn't actually a comic story, but a book filled with pinups by various artists of cover mockups for a Hancock comic book. Well, for some reason, a few of us couldn't find them in our area, while another board member frequented a shop that had a lot of them. This board member agreed to send copies of the book out to the other board members, free of charge, even paying to ship them himself.

I thought this was very generous in itself. Yesterday, I received a Priority Box from this board member. However, I noticed it happened to be very heavy for just one comic. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and saw the entire contents:

I was basically in shock when I saw this. First of all, the Hancock book for free in itself was a kind gesture. The other book was a copy of Visions #4, which is an early appearance of the Flaming Carrot, a very tough to find item. As for the slabbed book, I think it speaks for itself.

I e-mailed the sender, to thank him for his generous gift. It turned out he knew my birthday was coming up, so this was a birthday gift. What a great gift, really made my day. If you're reading this, THANKS, my friend! :thumb:

Some Boris the Bear goodies I just bought directly from James Dean Smith, the creator of Boris. The comics are not available from stores as Jim had them printed by an On Demand printer. The prints were freebies courtesy of Mr. Smith.

My Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (1st print) midgrade, but not an easy book to land:

UPDATE: sold my Turtles #1, I miss it a little, but I made a nice profit on it, so I'm happy with that.

Here's some unused Defiant art (pencils) from the aborted Defiant: Schism card set. The River Group was working on a set of these, which I bought directly from the artist:

UPDATE: also sold my Visions #1, again hated to do it as I love the Carrot, but I made a large profit on it, so again... :?
