The Visitor #2 discussion

Post by Dallow Spicer1 »

Interesting, confusing at times but interesting nevertheless. The Visitor has 100% Japanese dna but isn’t human...a Rai perhaps? :hm: A few pages of the book seemed to a flashback, this wasn’t very clear to me but the panelling around the page seemed to indicate a change in time period. As previously speculated, looks like the plan relates to New Japan, might be a twist to something else but I’m on board for the journey. Good art too, not Larosa or Suayan level but decent.

Seemed pretty obvious the project is related to new japan and the visitor is from the future. Being a Rai isn’t something I thought of, but would be an interesting twist a la the original visitor being sting. Not sure if that’s where it’s going, but I guess it could be an early (or the 1st?) version.

That part where the building was on fire and the guy was rescuing the old fella, was that a flashback?

I haven't yet read the whole issue (and thus I'm not reading the other comments) but I am a little pleased that they've somewhat acknowledged that The Visitor takes place in the VU, a reality in which psiots and other weird things are a fact of life.

Someone, I assumed the UN Security Lady, said she's experienced dealing with unorthodox threats like "psiots, bionics, and uniques."
I would have been more impressed if she mentioned aliens, too, referring to Armor Hunters, etc.

We'll wait and see if they reference the New Reality of known alien threats ushered in by Armor Hunters.

Another comment off the first page, same statement by the UN Security Lady "he seems as powerful as any of them"
Do what? I thought maybe I missed something in #1 and went back to reread it. Nope, The Visitor never does anything superpowered in #1 that the UN Security sees.

I don't like it.
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Yes, I believe that was a flash back/forward (if he really is a time traveler).

I agree on both points. Good to ground it in the VU, but the line in his power didn’t make any sense. All we/they saw him do was basically tamper with machinery.

The only thing that signals against New Japan to me is where they talk about needing a genome. I don't know enough about New Japan but seems to me a genome isn't involved too much, until you get to Rai maybe.

And about The Visitor being a Rai, does VEI Rai have a similar electricity communication ability? It's not required that all Rais be created equal, but I'm curious. It reminded me more of Bloodshot than Rai

I'm very much hoping that the connection to the larger VU gets expanded. We'll see. But a big thing for me is after Armor Hunters the VU isn't just a corner of our real world anymore.

1 page of DNA explanation
3 pages of flashforward
3.5 pages of Visitor whining about not being able to talk to a circuit
13.5 pages of painfully stupid arguing about the safety of safe houses

This is not okay comic book story telling.

Excellent summary. I am hoping for improvement.

Yup, that’s about it! Hopefully 3rd issues a charm, and we find out who’s behind the mask, and what’s his motives, beyond his supposed enemies secret project...

Also, those were flashback pages, all explained in the pre-order editions.

Visitor's past but VEi's future, no? That's what I mean by flashforward.

I don't know how many people noticed but issue #1 was WHO and issue #2 was WHAT so I think #3 will be WHEN and maybe #4 is WHY

Will there be a #5 WHERE or is the 4 issue arc too standard?

I am guessing at WHY we find out who's behind the mask, not #3

Where is the discussion on Visitor #3???

I'm not used to this...do I just post "Visitor #3 discussion" and start it?

I saw not it is 6 issues announced and I was wrong about the sequence order of WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY

and I guess #6 would indeed be HOW unless WAZZUP is a valid option.
