Another series along with Ninja-K and Quantum and Woody which is very well written and brings something new to the universe while building upon an established continuity.

Can be read as a standalone or as part of the current story arc. I think this worked well on so many levels and loved it.

Side note - the art was great here, really adds a sense of 'place' to the series.

I'd definitely agree that it could be read as a standalone (and its overall quality), but I'm looking forward to this storyline ending, and get Jack moving forward again. Each of these issues has been a promising glimpse, but a blink and its over has left me wanting each time.Hopefully there's a good payoff to all of this next issue and not just a wrap up of a tour of the past.

I'm also hoping it'll get scary at some point...

I'm really enjoying this series and think it's doing a great job of bringing this character back, this issue in particular was a good mythology builder.

Now we know the name of Shadowman Loa, Bosou Kilblamin is a real thing in Voodoo and the next issue should reveal a lot.

I think they wrap this arc in the next issue and then we'll be back in New Orleans with Jack and Alyssa fighting with the Brethren over Darque's remains, which they also did a great job of setting up at the beginning of this issue.

I enjoy a well constructed story it's a 5/5 for me.

Great issue! Fantastic art!

Hard to imagine a tribe 40,000 years ago without fire since Homo Sapiens adopted it 125,000 years ago (precursors has it hundreds of thousands of years before that) but that's just a quibble. I'm really enjoying seeing the origins of the Loas.

I really enjoyed this issue as well. The whole arc had been well done - I didn’t think I was going to like seeing a new layer of origin to the Shadow Loa, as I previously had thought it was only really relevant to know about how Sandria Darque created Shadowman. But this issue was very good. Looking forward to the finale :thumb:
