X-O Manowar [2017] #9
I'm glad we're heading into whatever this bounty hunter storyline is. Because like Aric, I'm getting kind of tired of the relentless wars and battles.

Re: X-O Manowar [2017] #9
Well this story ran it's course. I think it was kinda over in issue #8 and this from a story perspective felt like a bit of filler (a lot of worldbuilding exposition) like it was designed to fill out those 3-issue GN arcs and they needed an extra slot. And I say this as uber obsessive Matt Kindt fan. Not every at bat can be a home run though.
The art is so good, I mean, I just was happy with it as a gallery experience. So pretty. Out of Crain's 3 issues, this one was the best with the most diverse scenery and colors, just felt nice in that regard.
I feel like we kinda need explanations at this point, and leaping to a bounty hunt storyline... well, I hope it starts to peel back the layers of why Aric is here. We'll see how that goes.
Sadly, my lowest rated Kindt book I've read:
7/10

Fully agree
I find Crain's work so fluid and kinda messy. This was easy to the eyes.

Re: X-O Manowar [2017] #9
I noticed the time jump. Was a little jarring till I figured time had passed.
I hope after Aric has everyone dead he movies the Vine there as their new home world.
I liked it and yes felt like a filler or a tie up issue but it was fine. I scored higher. 4 out of 5
It's bugging me after being granted higher knowledge of a intergalactic beings Eric is no different. Or doesn't have some kind of sweet knowledge.
So Aric can make any wepon out of his suit.
Lacking on the photon cannons.
Member berries. Do you member the days when Aric talked to the suit. Member when we had one on one time with the both of them.

That's a good way of putting it, and I did enjoy the issue. I think Kindt timed the switch to a different plot line well. As you say, the arc ran its course and was great but it's time for a new wrinkle.otomo wrote:Well this story ran it's course.

I know it's off topic but I just couldn't help reading this phrase and thinking that's what my anatomically-obsessed vegetarian ex-girlfriend used to call my balls. Fun times. Thanks for the reminder.nonplayer wrote:Member berries.

Re: X-O Manowar [2017] #9
Looks like Aric has made a mess of things, probably should have took Abram’s advice. Crains art seemed pretty polished this issue, I wonder will they have him go back to doing 4001/4002 stuff again, his art is a major part of that timeline, it seems like a natural fit now. Looking forward to these Bounty Hunters...

Excellent issue. Art was amazing. I too am glad we are moving on. 8.5/10.
