Great review, Jesse. I have only read the first arc, so I am anxious to get the rest of the trades to finish the story.

Always enjoy your reviews, Brother. :thumb:

Yes, but who knows how time stacks up between our world and his afterlife? That whole thing could have taken place in three minutes, our time.

I agree, very heart warming ending with the family being re-united and the dinner spread, just sad to see this title end (for now?). I would definitely like seeing more Eternal Warrior in the future.

I didn't enjoy this issue very much. The hell type scenes I find uninteresting and the demons poorly designed from a visual standpoint. I'm not a fan of Gill's work and find it inconsistent, especially when it comes to proportions (usually head sizes too small or in XO's case waist size huge!). Whilst there are often very good individual panels here and there I don't think the standard is quite there in comparison with Valiant's higher and even medium tier artists.

After 14 issues I'm not too sorry to see this end. I really enjoyed the eternal enemy arc and I think VDitti has established a lot more depth to this character for future writers to use, however, the demon stuff didn't keep my interest and I'd have preferred to have seen Gilad in other scenarios.

Even more disappointing was that I could only find a Cat Cover variant which I hate! facepalm

2/5

I skipped all the cat covers too. Much more of a dog person.

This series started reaaaaaallllyy slow and predictable IMHO, but since the "Prelude to Labyrinth" issues this has been one of my fav VEI reads. I dug the Pale Herder's head walk like few comics' moments in recent times- art was unbelievable - MR. GILL YOU ROCK SO HARD!!!!!- and the whole weird vibe from the issue and the closure left me very satisfied.
More Gilad solo-adventures, please!!!!! He's one of my fav characters in the VEIverse and deserves the best writers and artists. I hope there's something cooking already.

Finally finished the three TPB's that make up this series. I like Gill's art and I love the story-telling from Venditti. Overall, I enjoyed this series and look forward to more EW stories.
