Listening to the episode now, but I LOVED this issue. The Hillary Clinton story went out of its way to say that people on both sides of any issue can be reasonable, which was nice. Dark Star was creepy-ish with the cat pulling a Harada-recruits-Pete callback. It was all so feel good.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

Even though I don't read Faith I still listened...very interesting discussion from Sean and Chris who (as is often the case) are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to the Valiant 'lite' books! I'm usually 90% in Chris' corner, ie I tend to like/dislike the same books. That said, I did agree with one of Sean's points about not having to have an 'immediate' explanation for every new character or to not know straight away how things fits into continuity. However, I agree with Chris' concerns that there might not be a plan or explanation for some of the plot lines we're seeing lately from some books as continuity seems to be second place to goofy, throwaway moments which serve the short term.

It was also mentioned that one of the back up stories had a group of Gun Runners with jackets on which said 'Gun Runners' on it.... facepalm dear oh dear, who is in charge of these decisions?!?!

I didn't even read the two extra short stories, I just wasn't interested in them. That whole 'gunrunner' bit in the last short story... facepalm

I did read the main tale & thought it was fairly good as far as the lighthearted, feel-good Faith stuff we've been getting so far in the series.

Filler issue. I am not the audience for this series, I know that, but some of it has been well written enough to make me not cancel it (and i'm an "I want-all-VEI-issues" collector and fan, which also helps). I did not read any issue of this series since #2, the one with the actor evil guy.
This new enemy looks minimally interesting- and Faith needs recurring villains of her own, if this is really an ongoing (50 issues, maybe?)
But, yeah, felt like a filler to me.
