I believe that was confirmed. The AI developed out of what was left of the "Lysander" med bot.Brapbrap wrote:i like the theory that sunlight on snow was built from the medbot in bloodshot & h.a.r.d. corps 16

In the book or an interview? I don't recall anything about that.BugsySig wrote:I believe that was confirmed. The AI developed out of what was left of the "Lysander" med bot.Brapbrap wrote:i like the theory that sunlight on snow was built from the medbot in bloodshot & h.a.r.d. corps 16

Both. It was definitely said by Dysart he was a med bot. But it also basically says it I the SoS origin issue. SoS was a "line of code" which survived the nanite infusion of the medbot. I'll see if I can find the specific mention...jmatt wrote:In the book or an interview? I don't recall anything about that.BugsySig wrote:I believe that was confirmed. From Imperium #3:
"My embryonic state was a single line of code left after Harada's failed experiment to install nanites inside non-sentient medical robots."

Re: Imperium #5 Discussion
I love this book and each issue impresses me more and more.
In harbinger I found Harada a compelling creation - a bad guy, but one that i wanted to read about, and no hand-rubbing 'mwah-ha-ha' megalomaniac, but rather a flawed true believer whose ideology is about making the world better according to his view. By contrasts, I found almost no redeeming qualities to Stancheck, which I why I have argued he is far from a hero, unlike the rest of the Renegades, each of whom followed the arc of the hero in turn.
In Imperium, Dysart has taken that good work with Harada, built on it, then applied it to other characters new and old who could easily be regarded as bad guys, but finding an angle to give readers a way to understand and even possibly empathise with them: Gravedog (what a brilliant creation he is proving to be); Mech Major; Angela; and now Kozol. In one issue, Kozol is transformed in terms of depth for me, but yet still true to past portrayals. A testament to amazing writing on a true gem of a book.
I loved the 'behind the plan' reveal; while we have seen comic books use mixed up and juxtaposed time frames in the past, I cannot say I have seen this approach very often outside of cinema and television. It wasn't a gimmick, it helped shape how we see the cast. Great choice, and very well executed, and something that could have failed in lesser hands.
I wish and hope the next/new Harbinger title will be written by Dysart as a companion piece to Imperium.

Has anyone pictured what "sunlight on snow" would look like? A sun with beams coming out, over a white background.

I'm excited see to Harada's team together, after taking months to build up their characters. And I was looking forward to Scott's work on Imperium, and he didn't disappoint. Scott's long run on Captain America with Ed Brubaker was one of Marvel's best from the last 20 years!!

Re: Imperium #5 Discussion
This issue really didn't do it for me. I like everything Sunlight on Snow, but didn't really care for the rest of the issue. I like the series, just not this issue.
