I am on the fence.

I've still got most of my comic cards (almost all Marvel) from when I was a kid, but don't really concentrate on getting new ones. I've popped off and bought a few sets recently, but I am not going to get into collecting these cards all that intensely.

By complete coincidence I've been on a card set completing rampage for all of the Marvel Masterpieces series, Marvel Metal and Flair Annual sets for like the last two weeks. Seriously, I don't know what came over me, but I've been picking up cards like a madman to complete these sets. If anyone is down for some kind of a trade to complete sets, lemee know..

I voted yes. Not because they're worth anything now (just bought a set of Marvel Universe Series 1 & 2 for 14.00 shipped) but because how cool they were.

Believe it or not I actually got into the Marvel Cards first, and looking at all the neat characters and reading the backs got me into looking for the actual comics.

I like looking at the card price guides in old Wizards at the prices of these sets. They even broke down the prices of individual common cards.

aww....how sweet.... :cloud9:

So what you're saying is... they're cheap, they're finite and they're... ours?

I have the first set of the MM series in a tin set (I think it had Cap on the top). . it's still sealed.

If you want it I would be happy to trade something for it . . :)

Believe it or not...you were not the only one who got into the comics via the Marvel series cards.... I did too back in 1991... :P

The Marvel series 1 cards are pure nostalgic to me.

I collect a $hitload of non-sports cards. I am pretty much disgusted with how many cards I have. Lots of holes in various card sets as well and what I wouldnt give for the last two Marvel Masterpieces sets.

I think that I have a few complete sets of this and that if anyone is interested in buying them or trading for them. I also have a mess of extras, probably around 5,000+ extras, might be going up on Ebay as I am sure it will bring in a hefty price.

Subsets are what bring in the money.
