Apparently, the Ultimate Universe was revived by Bendis in Spider-Men II. No clue if Marvel is ever gonna tell stories in it, though.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

I spent some time building a run of the original Ultimate Marvel stuff. I generally only embraced it via the original branding. I've got some straggler Ultimate stuff with the white border branding, but the original branding Ultimate stuff is a nice set.
