Event comics.
Just posted in a sepate thread about ash
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=42027" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But that just leads to collecting another DU.
As I said in the past - just DU it.
Draco would be proud.
Anyone like the series? Publishing company.

Re: Event comics.
I was totally into Event when it first came out. I have every issue of Ash and 22 Brides and most of Painkiller Jane.
I thought all their series were pretty good and had some very original/interesting superhero concepts. Joe Q was at the top of his art game at the time, too.
Ash was my favorite though. Unfortunately, Joe Q went on to Marvel as EiC and Palmiotti moved on to DC (where he did a bunch of great stuff with Justin Grey) and their creator owned stuff went by the wayside.
Maybe one day when they both move on they'll return to the characters (or allow someone else to). Still a lot of stories to mine there.

Re: Event comics.
Super.
Another du to add to my list.
Cheers.
It was big back in the day.
But I never read it ( even though I ran a comic shop - cannot read everything )
plus it was not regular.
Time to pick up all the super rare comics for 99p

Yes, the irregularity was a *SQUEE*. That's what you got (and still get) from creator owned properties. It's probably one of the things that helped kill the industry in the 90s.Phantom wrote:Super.

But now that its 15 years later, late shipping isn't an issue

Re: Event comics.
Back in the day, they promised a new series where no issue would be late.
Ash would be at 12 by the same time next year,
And in 10 years at 120.
First of the new series of ash was late then never released, and that was it

I remember that. I also remember the various delays that made it almost impossible for me to keep up on a regular basis. I eventually bought the first trade of the original mini because I was missing issue 2 forever.Phantom wrote:Back in the day, they promised a new series where no issue would be late.

Well, there *is* a new Painkiller Jane series or mini.BugsySig wrote:I was totally into Event when it first came out. I have every issue of Ash and 22 Brides and most of Painkiller Jane.

If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

There have been a few, but I don't think Joe or Jimmy were really involved in them beyond some covers.kjjohanson wrote:Well, there *is* a new Painkiller Jane series or mini.BugsySig wrote:I was totally into Event when it first came out.
