Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Ok don't beat me up to hard, but it does fit into this catagory.

VIP Valiant Sneak Peak "peek" Ashcan, they only have 100, and I have only seen a couple on Ebay in the compleated auctions. I can't seem to get one. I know I know why would anyone want the "trashcan", but I think it would be cool to own. VIP only put out that one comic which makes it a Dead U book and I think it is really hard to find.

So let the bashing begin, and if you have one that you would be willing to part with for a price please let me know. :thumb:

You make a fair point. I think this does belong in the category of one of the hardest to find dead universe issues.
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

I have 2, but I lucked into someone who bought a couple at the con. I'd be willing to trade one, but it would need to be for different hard to find Valiant merch.

I only have three. I was holding one for a friend.

Not only do I have 3 copies of a print run of 100, I have #100 of 100.

However, there is great suspicion among the collectors of Valiant that there were more than 100 of these.

aren't they numbered? Has a duplicate number ever come up? #100 of 100 :thumb:

We have not compared the numbers rigorously to test that theory.

I did find a book on my list that I have never found before.
Freddy's Dead 3-D.
Not sure how hard to find it is, but I look through a bunch of comic boxes and I've never seen one.

Nowhere near that. There's a bias against the book on these boards, but I think proper valuation is $75 tops. I saw one on eBay for $200+ recently. I think you can get one for less than $60 if you wait long enough.

Lonestar is getting as bad (and in some cases) worse than Mile High in pricing extremely rare books. I personally wouldn't pay more than $10 for this item, I just don't think it has any real tangible value.

Another thing, how hard would these be to counterfeit, really? I think that has to be taken into consideration, furthering limiting it's value.

It's a consignment item, so I think the person consigning the ashcan to Lone Star set the price, not Lone Star themselves. Lone Star is only offering $6.48 in credit or $5.40 in cash if anyone wants to sell them a copy.
