How were these distributed (the regular one and the gold foil version)?

Alot of Ultraverse's later Color Ashcans were sold in packs of 50 @ about $10.00 per pack to be distributed by the dealer to help promote upcoming comics or events. For every pack of 50 a dealer got 1 Gold Foil Ashcan.

That was the only Gold ashcan variant. The ashcans were exclusively purchased through Diamond as at that time alot of companies were abandoning Capital as a distributor and going to Diamond exclusively. Marvel even left both at one point to distribute their comics themselves and I think that lasted less than a year before they moved to Diamond.

Best way to tell if an ashcan/comics was distributed in Previews it would have been bound in the catalog itself and have that glue or rough area on the spine where it had been removed.

The Rune/Wrath ashcan was also available with this issue of Previews (I'm not sure if it was bound in or loose 'tho)

Yeah, I think that's where I got mine ... I guess the gold's went to LCS owners who ordered a bunch of Previews (or maybe Rune?).

So how are we getting along on the whole premium variant UV thang?
Have we actually come across any new books since you started this whole fact finding mission?
