Ultraverse sublists

Post by depluto »

Aw hell, I am getting so close to finishing this line ... going through all my books and will post a need list in a couple of days. I think it's less than 10 books. Many props to Knightt for keeping the main list updated, I lost a bunch of my crap in a system crash and he bailed me out.

But I'm trying to put together some sidebar lists. Here are all the polybagged issues I know of (these usually have a different price, too):

Polybags
Firearm: 1
Freex: 1
Hardcase: 2, 4
Mantra v1: 1, 2
Prime v1: 2, 4
Solitaire: 1
Solution: 1
Strangers: 2, 4
Ultraforce v1: 1

I also want to make a list of all the DF signed issues. Here is what I have (or others here have found), so help me with any you have seen that are not on this list and I will update:

Dynamic Forces
Firearm: 1 (2000)
Godwheel 0 (250)
Nightman (7500)
Rune: 1 (10000)
Rune 1 Giant Size (250)
Solitaire: 1 (7500), 1 and Hearts (50), Collection 1-5 (75)

And these are the signed comics with Malibu certs that I have (or gathered from others). Please let me know of others:

Malibu (all are 2000)
All New Exiles: Infinity, 1
Lord Pumpkin: 0
Prime: Infinity, 1
Rune: 1
Rune vs. Venom: 1
Siren: 1
Ultraforce: 1

Mantra Ultra Archive: 1 (500)
Prime Printer's Proof: 1

MORE SIGNED CRAP

Beckett
Hardcase 1 (5000)
Prime 1 (6000)
Strangers 1 (5000)

Catalyst
Exiles 1 (2000)
Freex 1 (2000)
Hardcase 1 (2000)
Mantra 1 (????)
Prototype 1 (2000)
Strangers 1 (2000)
Sludge 1 (????)
Exiles 1 silver hologram (50)

Limited Treasured Editions
Mantra 1 (500)

Do you have the complete list if Ultra 5000 too.
Are there are any rumoured to exist that we have yet to see?

Im pretty sure you guys had these sorted before i ever looked at the DU section here, but thought id mention it anyways.

I'm pretty sure Knightt's list has all the U5000s ... I broke these off into separate lists so we could all brainstorm and see if we're missing some.

I've got exactly all of them on the list but no more and I search for such things pretty regularly.

With the addition of Depluto's side list (which I will add to the original list), I would ask Chiclo to bounce his books against the list to identify any that have not been listed.

Chiclo, if you have time to confirm/deny from the list I would appreciate it.

BTW, great list Depluto... I will update the master list, ASAP.

Master list has been updated:

viewtopic.php?p=127307#127307

Anyone care to count just how many issues are out there ? That is what I want to add to the title of each DU... i.e.

Ultraverse (Total number of books: 873)

That is my best guess at the actual number of books, but would anyone else like to know the number of books to collect in each DU ?

Very cool, Chris ... most of those were already on the list, I just thought they were easier to search through when they are broken out.

With only 250 of these (Rune #1 Giant Size), THIS one might be a bit tough to track down.

There is also a run of DF books with their old style COA on pretty much all the # 1's if i recall.

This Exiles doesnt show the COA, but im sure this was one.I sold my last copy a year so ago.

The Mantra pic shows the COS style.

Draco, are those triangular black COAs from DF? I might have a couple of those, too.

:hm:

As for certs from other companies, I'm not worried about tracking those down yet. I have a bunch from Beckett and Catalyst.

And the ones with Malibu certs are already there, but keep an eye out for more.

And the Prime/Hulk, Nightman/Wolverine and Exiles/X-Men do each have two different COAs. I didn't break those off into a new list since we're sure that those three were the only books published like that.

It was before that called themselves Dymanic forces.

I have one of the Mantra black-triangle ones ... the cert says Limited Treasured Editions. That's pre-DF?

I know what you mean ... and now Draco has planted a bug in my ear. Up to you whether or not they go with the main list but I'll start compiling all the numbered, signed editions with COAs.

Beckett, Catalyst, Limited Treasured Editions and Presentime.

Are these 'official' comics memorabilia companies of sorts ? I think DF is an obvious pick as I remember these on QVC with the signers or lead person on the project. But I have no recollection of the others.

So, I am putting DF books in there (to include Malibu/Ultraverse/Marvel) for keeps but I think we should put it to a vote within this thread and the vote should include an answers as to why or why not. I think having that extra bit of information will be of use to the site and will be memorialized for future reference.

I am not including ANY LCS comic book signings, like "1,000 copies that came from (for example) stores like Depluto's Comic Book Store and Backyard Fence Repair" on the list.

So, let us come up with a consensus !!!

I am going to ask the following due to lack of information on my part. Are these signings like QVC or the present 'Graham Cracker' memorabilia ?

Do we add Beckett, Catalyst, Limited Treasured Editions and Presentime books to the Master List ?

I have a bunch of Comics Greatest World Catalyst, so i'm guessing they were a store too.
Beckett & Presentime possibly the same.

Im not 100% sure that Ltd Treasured editions are DF, but i will try to find out why im 90% sure.

I think although Dynamic Forces are scum of the earth to some extent and i dont want to line their nasty pockets, they do some cool stuff and if i can get their old bookl for pennies then im all up for it in all honesty.

I wouldnt add them to the sticky list or you would have to do similar for all the other major DU's too.
Probably just a personal like whether or not to have them, but still cool to make a list with visuals of whats out there.

The DF ones though are elevated somewhat as they work directly with the publishers where the stores that do signings are only doing a deal with the creators who sign there.

Well thats my 2c anyways.

:D
