An indy character called Pulsar? (early 90's)
I recall seeing a full page ad in Previews in the early 90's for a 'promising' looking indy book which I *think* was called Pulsar. Does that ring any bells with DU mongers???

As luck will have it I recalled seeing an ad for that when flipping through a Wizard very recently. I think this is what you're looking for:
http://comicbookrealm.com/series/29660/0/triad-universe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As far as I can tell 2 issues were published. Not sure if they made any more.

No wonder I couldn't find it in my most likely spots to search, this book would be listed under Triad, not Pulsar. Good job finding this one.kjjohanson wrote:As luck will have it I recalled seeing an ad for that when flipping through a Wizard very recently. I think this is what you're looking for:

Amazing. Anyway,this looks like an interesting publisher. They published the Honeymooners for 12 issues. I remember when that was coming out.

BTW, that's some awful cover design. Anatomy aint so hot either. And don't get me started on the geography. Here's the ad from Wizard:

That is the ad I recalled, although the version I saw was in Previews so was probably B&W. Thanks again.kjjohanson wrote:BTW, that's some awful cover design. Anatomy aint so hot either. And don't get me started on the geography. Here's the ad from Wizard:

This fills me with warm and fuzzy nostalgia.
As much as I love the information age and the internet, I do miss discovering things in print and through mailings. What was the mail order comic company in the 90's?

Westfield Comics was the company I dealt with back then. They used to send you catalogs through the mail.The Dirt Gang wrote:What was the mail order comic company in the 90's?

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure they're still around.StarBrand wrote:I remember them well.Brother J wrote:Westfield Comics was the company I dealt with back then. They used to send you catalogs through the mail.The Dirt Gang wrote:What was the mail order comic company in the 90's?

Hmmm...that sounds about right. I guess in a way DCBS is not much different but I loved getting the catalogs and thumbing through them, placing my order and then waiting for the package to arrive.

Yeah, they are still around. I looked at their web site when I was making the above post. I remember at some point they stopped sending out the paper catalog. I think DCBS and the other mail order companies surpassed Westfield a long time back.StarBrand wrote:Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure they're still around.StarBrand wrote:I remember them well.Brother J wrote:Westfield Comics was the company I dealt with back then.
