Relay for Life

Post by Serpymatt »

Hiya guys! Well, one of the coolest things I've seen about this community is the charity section. I was just curious if anyone else here does Relay for Life, aka the Cancer Walk?

I was never into anything like this, but when I moved out here, my wife-to-be had been active in it for a while as a member of her office team. After losing her grandfather to cancer and her office closing, she still wanted to be a part of the Walk, so she set up a team in memory of her grandfather.

It's a really cool thing to see all the people there and I'm hoping one year to be one of the 24 hour walkers, but that's a ways off :) As is, this year I'm gonna do my hour, maybe an extra if we need people to fill in and probably help my wife handle the campsite.

Anyone else also involved with the Relay?

My wife and I are involved with the Relay through the Penn State Alumni *SQUEE*.

Very cool. And for a GREAT cause.

Are walk is in May, I don't know how long we'll walk for since this is the first year our daughter is walking with us.
