As it was announced (http://www.wizardworld.com/gashwiencean2.html) earlier in the year, Wizard Entertainment is sponsoring the first live Inkwell Awards (IA) awards ceremony at their premiere Wizardworld: New England show (http://www.wizardworld.com/home-newengland.html) in Boston on October 15-17 at the Hynes Convention Center. It will be held on Saturday at 1pm and all of the winners will be announced and handed their trophies at that time with the results subsequently appearing online. A Q&A session will follow between the fans and the winners. The non-profit organization now has more updates to reveal about the anticipated event.

Legendary ink artist and Inkwell Awards Hall of Fame namesake, Joe Sinnott had been previously announced in various promotional material as being the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony. But after weeks of pain Joe was diagnosed with a broken hip from degenerative bone leading to scheduled hip replacement surgery. So with regret he had to cancel his appearance at WW: NE due to the time necessary for his rehab and recovery but hopes to handle the job next time around. A replacement for Joe needed to be found post-haste and one was in the form of artist extraordinaire and Inkwell Awards ambassador Ethan Van Sciver (GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH, JLA, FLASH: REBIRTH, SINESTRO CORPS WAR). Ethan will attend the event as Presenter alongside Bob Almond as emcee and Alana Stanley will debut at the event as Ms. Inkwell, the organization's spokesmodel and ceremony usherette. She began modeling in 2007 for Louis Small, Jr., who incidentally became the Inkwell Awards modeling liaison for recruiting and training Ms. Inkwell models in January, and he set her up with the organization for the Boston event. Another Ms. Inkwell to be appearing is Amy Fletcher who is known in the New England region as both a model and artist. As an artist she has had a diverse history working with tattoo art and rock band album covers and she presently freelances as an illustrator specializing in fantasy and good girl art. In 2007 she began working with Jim Balent and Holly Golightly of Broadsword Comics who began using her as a model for the series Tarot and she has excelled in her modeling career ever since. Previous Ms. Inkwells include Chrissy Cutler who debuted the character at Pittsburgh Comicon in April and Hanna Pawlowska who appeared at Heroes Con in June.

Also available at the Boston show venue on Saturday and Sunday will be a Wizard Exclusive IA 2010 Donation Drive Book with a new color cover art by fan-favorite artist Craig Rousseau and digitally colored by Blake Wilkie. Produced by committee member Jimmy Tournas, the book collects many of this years artists donations for fundraising as well as the printed ballot results and other special features . At 40+ pages the book will cost $10 and be limited to 150 copies, many signed by Craig. A very limited blank cover variant will also be available.

The Inkwell Awards (http://www.inkwellawards.com) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and educate about the craft of comic book inking and to annually recognize and award the best ink artists and their work. Now wrapping up their third year, the organization is overseen by a number of industry professionals such as founder & director Bob Almond, Daniel Best, Jimmy Tournas, Bob Shaw, Nathan Massengill who make up the IA core committee and Adam Hughes, Mike Marts, Ethan Van Sciver, Mark Brooks, Sal Velluto, Mike McKone, and Trevor Von Eeden who make up their IA ambassadors. They sponsor the Dave Simons Inkwell Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art and host The Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame Award
