The 2007 Valiantfans.com Cystic Fibrosis Fund Raiser...
HAS BEGUN.
Back in October Ric (Byrneout) went to an annual convention like the one that him and I attended last year in Phoenix, except this year it was in another state and unfortunately I was unable to attend. Ric headed up the charity events during the fund raiser. This year CF was not the primary during the Con, the primary this year was Shriner's. Needless to say, Ric did an INCREDIBLE job this year, just as last year (he is kinda cool like dat).
I received a check from White Wolf Publishing a few days back, this will be sent to the Tucson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation regional office next week. I am pleased to announce that this is the official start to the 2007 Valiantfans.com Cystic Fibrosis Fund Raiser. I will run auctions throughout the year up until September. Maybe this will be easier on everyones wallets over time and help raise more money for CF research. I will confirm that the CF website is up and running properly next week before I send the donation check off to the CFF.
So, I am officially starting the fund raiser and I am incredibly happy to begin this event with our first donation:
You are seeing this correctly, the donation check is for $14,000 dollars !!! I also have about $130 in additional donations that I have received locally.
RIC... YOU are the man. Thank you SO much for your work during the convention and raising such a large initial donation. The cool thing about this is that Shriner's received and even LARGER check as they were the primary.
So there you have it...
It has begun !!!

I had no idea White Wolf was big enough to do anything close to that!
They are really into gaming, but one of my favorite artsits, Vatche Mavlian, does a lot of work for them. Here's their site for anyone that's curious.
Excellent job, Ric!

Thank you for actually POSTING something MagnusRF. It is nice to know that people have more to say about this than just an emoticon... otherwise why even post new information, right ?MagnusRF wrote: I had no idea White Wolf was big enough to do anything close to that!

Yeah...MagnusRF wrote:Everyone else was too flabbergasted to say anything!Knightt wrote:Thank you for actually POSTING something MagnusRF. It is nice to know that people have more to say about this than just an emoticon... otherwise why even post new information, right ?
I just really want to emphasize at what a great job, Ric has done and think his efforts are worthy of a few comments instead of emoticons. $14,000 is A LOT of money (and CF was the secondary charity at the con), I think showing our support and appreciation to his efforts are in order.
Thanks again, Ric... for your time, support and incredible effort in supporting the CF fund raiser as you do every year. I promise you that I will support your Shriner's fund raiser as much as I can this coming December. Both very worthy charities and I want you to know just how much you are appreciated.
Rock on !!!

I appreciate the statements, guys. It means a lot that I was able to arrange it.
Just to be clear, the check is written by White Wolf - but the money comes from the people at the convention. I run a real-time auction (not eBay - oh no! ), do a few raffles, Jail & Bail and the like, and then use that money to give back to charity. Since some people pay with checks or credit cards, we have them make it out to White Wolf, who then collect all the cash, checks, and credit card payments, combine them, and send the checks along their merry ways.
And White Wolf retains no rights to the donations - they make sure that it's the people who donated who get to claim the donations to charity. WW has ALWAYS been amazingly supportive of me in these causes, an they are a PHENOMENAL company with which to work.

It never occurred to me that this might be the case. Still, it's very generous of them to help out like that!Byrneout wrote:I appreciate the statements, guys. It means a lot that I was able to arrange it.
