Oh, yeah, the valiant stuff....
Met everyone at the panel. small turnout with the crowd, but it was fun to see bernard chang, van hook, sean chen, howard simpson, calaifiore, ramos and maurice fontenot in the same room good. Good reminicing. I knew that van hook had a killer memory, but didn't realize how well bernard's was on dates and place and names. Good to meet greg, chris (knight 333)and k_c collectibles, and anyone else that I've forgotten. We all had a nice time chatting and would love to make this first annual perhaps part of a new tradition. Knight and were going to try to meet up later the next day, but timing wise it didn't work out.
all for now -
charles yo
Can you post a pic of the shirt you wore - front and back? I will as soon as I get the film develpoed, but that may be a little while. I thought it was AWESOME to say the least!

Me too, something about the new owners, what happened with the VIP lawyer (did anyone actually talk to him as they said they would on the other thread?), etc.xoken wrote:I'm wondering if there was an official announcement.
Comics are like a Rorschach test, everyone has a different opinion on what they are and can be...

I kinda figured he would play the "no comment" routine.Knightt_333 wrote:There was nothing from the new owners... nothing.ManofTheAtom wrote:Me too, something about the new owners, what happened with the VIP lawyer (did anyone actually talk to him as they said they would on the other thread?), etc.xoken wrote:I'm wondering if there was an official announcement.
And I would say nothing substantial from the VIP lawyer, I mean come on... what could he say ?
Sorry but no info, dudes....

If the camera I was using made it look as if the meeting was being video recorded I appologize. The camera I was using DOES record video but I did not have a tape in it. It is also a digital camera. Cool, huh? I kept the camera poised on the panel at all times because I was waiting to capture a "Kodak Moment". Of which I did many and hope to post soon. My camera "appeared" to be the only one filming to my knowledge.
I'm sorry I worried some people and disappointed others.

I got back from the SDCC at 11:30 Sunday night after a 5 hour drive on about 4 hours of sleep. The convention was incredible as always. It was nice to meet fellow board members and creators and to be able to put a face and voice to the words on the boards. Being able to meet Greg, Architect, Dino, BTE, ZWH, Serenity, MagnusR, Knight333, KC, Jim Calafiore, Howard Simpson, Kevin VanHook, Charles Yoakum, Rodney Ramos, Bernard Chang, Sean Chen, and a few others was a complete pleasure. I am very thankful to all involved with putting the VF.Com meeting together. It seemed like the creators enjoyed it just as much as the fans. Most seemed to have great memories of working there and spoke of their positive experiences.
I was also able to spend a considerable amount of time discussing Valiant and comics in general with many of them and learned a few things about the past and of things on the Valiant horizon.
A Special thanks to the following:
Justin for the “freebees” and for buying the first book.
Brian for a great trade.
Greg, Justin, Chris, and Brian for putting the time and effort into making the meeting one to remember.
Magnus for the very kind words on my artwork. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family.
Chris S for the incredible amount of time and effort he has been putting in to make sure this years CF fund raiser will be a huge success.
Dinesh for incredible insight on the future of comics and of the Valiant universe.
I know there is much more to say but I have never been very good at expressing gratitude. If I didn’t mention your name I am sorry. I enjoyed meeting you all and couldn’t have hoped for a nicer bunch of guys & a few ladies. I really hope more of you can make it next year.
P.S. Also thanks to all who took the time to stop by our table and for buying my book. It really meant a lot to me.
