Texas Comic conventions
So I am trying to look at "local" comic conventions. I say "local", because even these are a 3 to 6 hours drive for me. Anyone been to any of these and can either recommend (or recommend that I avoid?)
Wizard World Comic Con in Austin
Wizard World Comic Con in San Antonio
Alamo City Comic Con (San Antonio)
Texas Comicon
Space City Comicon (Houston)
Texas International Comic Convention (Houston)
Amazing Houston Comic Con
I would probably be looking for one that also includes pop culture, TV, and movie stuff, since that is what my wife and daughter would like.

A bit late, but the Space City Comicon IS a pretty good show.cjv wrote:So I am trying to look at "local" comic conventions. I say "local", because even these are a 3 to 6 hours drive for me. Anyone been to any of these and can either recommend (or recommend that I avoid?)

Re: Texas Comic conventions
I've been to Space City Comic Con twice. First was for the big Babylon 5 cast reunion. Second was this past Saturday. It's a great event. Big show, but with a laid back small show feel. It was in Galveston at Moody Gardens for the B5 reunion and I really loved that location. This past Saturday was at the NRG Center in Houston. Nice venue, but I preferred the Moody Gardens location. I ordered my tickets well ahead of time so all I had to do when I got there was show the wristband they mailed me and walked right in. No waiting in line.

I think Wizard may be more up my wife and daughters alley.
Do these cons have panels and such scheduled, similar to SDCC (albeit on a smaller scale)? We went to a local con here, and there was only one panel at a time, so now much interest from the family.

There is one coming up in Dallas mid-October. The 16th or thereabouts.
My wife and I are considering going but it does not look particularly likely to happen.

Alone, listless, breakfast table in an otherwise empty room.

If I am ever driving across country I want to stop in Chiclo's shop and pay for something with bullets.

Re: Texas Comic conventions
.22lr should retail for about $0.04 a round. Mutliply that by 350 and you get $14.depluto wrote:Bullets? That sounds like a lot.
That does seem a little steep. Maybe I should lower my price...

Re: Texas Comic conventions
$0.04 is a bit unrealistically low for Obama's America. $0.06 seems to be the new bottom from what I have seen. That gives you $21 before tax.Blood of Heroes wrote:.22lr should retail for about $0.04 a round. Mutliply that by 350 and you get $14.depluto wrote:Bullets? That sounds like a lot.
