SDCC Parking
Hey all,
So, pre-paid parking for SDCC goes on sale tomorrow. Is it best to try to park at the convention center, as it is the most convenient? Or try to get a lot a few blocks away, with the theory that traffic will be a little better a few blocks away from the convention center?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: SDCC Parking
From my experience you're much much better off parking at least a few blocks away. Last year when I got down near the convention it took me an hour just to turn around because there was no parking.

Re: SDCC Parking
I always park at a metro station and take the train in, if I do decide to park at the show, usually because I drive straight to poker night from the show. I go about 2 hours before the show starts to beat the traffic and leave before it ends to avoid the crush.

Re: SDCC Parking
I was actually in, but then timed out. you only get 5 minutes to complete your order, but it takes them like 4:30 to actually let you know if you got a spot. Impossible. Now I'm locked out. It's probably already sold out.

Re: SDCC Parking
ACE parking told me that the site is down.
I just don't understand how this can happen. They can't be surprised with the volume of peeps.......
frustrating.

Re: SDCC Parking
Yep, definitely not psyched about this. Don't want to be paying like $50 a day just to park. What's the public transpo situation like there?

Re: SDCC Parking
The public Metro system is really good and affordable though it does get a bit crowded with so many people using it. Getting to the Con each morning is not too bad, because people come in at different times so it is a bit staggered. Leaving is a different story though, it is HORRIBLE with everyone trying to leave at once. I find the ebst thing to do is walk into the Gas Lamp district and have a bite to eat, or go to a late panel that gets out after the crush of people has thinned out. Otherwise you could end up waiting for an hour to get on the Metro. The ACE site s supposed to be back up soon @ 3:15 PST
