I remeber the good old days when you could enter in an amount at the last couple of minutes and win the auction :D Now we snip and the worst thing is that is getting down right vicious lately. I just won a Bloodshot #0 VVSS but it wasn't easy.

Mar-30-04 10:20:06 PST US $31.00 whetteon( 62)
Mar-30-04 10:20:26 PST US $30.00 cjvitek( 23)
Mar-30-04 10:20:15 PST US $25.00 cjvitek( 23)
Mar-30-04 10:20:08 PST US $22.00 cjvitek( 23)
Mar-30-04 04:52:24 PST US $20.22 collector-rat( 559)
Mar-29-04 17:34:38 PST US $14.00 brother*j*valiants( 249)
Mar-29-04 20:49:11 PST US $10.02 johnpaulbill( 123)

As you can see, it jumped $10 in the last 30 seconds with cjvitek's snipper going into overdrive. Had time not of ran out he might have even surpased my bid. Are other bidders experiencing similiar cut-throat bidding wars recently on other Valiant titles?

I watched the same thing happen with my VVSS auctions the other day and with Rodney's recent auctions. All I can say is that the VVSS books are hot right now and everyone's lying in wait to get the best deal. Right before that auction ended, I picked up a Harbinger Pink CGC 9.4 for $40.00 so I'm pretty happy with that because I've seen raw copies go for more than that.

I've seen those as well! In fact, I've been recording the recent sales of Valiant comics I would like to buy in order to gage where my snipping prices should fall. Of course I do NOT include shipping else I might just hand the results over to Greg and his companion on a much needed upgrade to the pricing guide. Since Valiant was self-declared "HOT" by Overstreet and Wizard, prices are on an average 15% higher then the current pdf message board price guide.

DISCLAIMER:
It takes HUGE amout of work to keep a price guide current and accurate. Greg's work has not gone unnoticed nor am I saying he should quit his day job and work fully on updating the price guide for free. I'm just warning the other Valiant fans that since the last update, prices have risen across the board for pre-unity and 5,000 or less issues.

Yes, please all this talk of 'snipping' is making me keep my legs crossed.

SNIPE, SNIPING

not SnipSnip! :D

Oh, and snipers are great! I've had items sit without bids many times until those last few precious minutes/seconds AND THEN BOOM! in come the snipers doing their thing, God bless 'em all!
:hm:

Had a Chaos Effect Omega Gold (which I thought no one was paying attention to) go from $0.25 to $20.00 in the last minute. Stuff happened so fast my head was spinning. I think someone on this board won that auction but man, it was ridiculous. I remember I was winning with 1 minute left, went to go see which card to use for Paypal, refreshed the page and BAM! You have been outbid, winning price $20.00. Dang it!!!
