$78.87, wow!!!!
It's just a newspaper, sure, but it's also an item on the checklist and we crazy fools who want to have a 100% Valiant collection need them to complete our runs. It's the same reason the VVSS and variants go so high. As for rarity, the later Valiant Voice issues are probably even more scarce than the hardest to find variant books, because most collectors don't throw away their old comics, but most of them do throw promotional items like this newspaper away after they read them. These certainly come up on eBay a whole lot less than Chaos Alpha Reds or Unity limited trades.

Well, the guy who came in second only needs VV #19 to complete his 100% Valiant collection, and I've seen his name on the inventory list for as long as I've been looking at it, so he's been trying to complete a set for a few years now. I can't say I blame him for going high for a Valiant item that's only been on eBay twice before this. Even the rarest VVSS books have been on eBay at least 10 times each now. I've also seen the other high bidder go very high for Valiant Voice issues in the past, though I don't know if his collection is in the inventory.

I agree the paper isn't worth $100.00, but I wanted to finish up my collection. Besides, if I wasn't going to win it, somebody needed to pay. Even though this my first post, many of the board has dealt with me. If anybody is willing to part with one of theirs, I'm willing to listen to offers. Also I have been looking for OS-7 from Valiant Era II to complete my Valiant card sets and the same deal applies.
What would I do with a Million $, besides 2 chicks at the same time? Nothing. Absolutely nothing!

Does the OS7 Valiant Era II card say Valiant specials on the front and Valiant Reader beneath? It is also a slightly oversized card? If so I just coincidently found one this morning in a box of cards. It's not in the best shape for a card if it was a comic I would call it a Fine. but it is one. PM me if interested.chirco606 wrote:I agree the paper isn't worth $100.00, but I wanted to finish up my collection. Besides, if I wasn't going to win it, somebody needed to pay.
