Oh. my. goodness.

Wouldn't it be fun to mail every new board member a copy of XO 1, Shadowman 1, Magnus 1, etc. just by way of greeting and welcome?

When did H1 without a coupon get to be at least a $25 book?

For awhile now....but I wonder how 'mint' all these books are. I wouldn't be bidding that much higher than what it is now...

Also is anyone familiar with this seller? He has massive eBay feedback, I'm just surprised he would bulk so many of these comics in a lot...

I go through a lot of emotions and value-questioning when I see a stack of 76 copies of X-O and Shadowman #1's.

Primarily though, I'm trying to figure out a way to put them a vault and swim through them, Scrooge McDuck style.

Porky's sells tons on eBay. I've purchased from them with very mixed, and often extremely poor results. I bought a couple of retailer reviews from them that they shipped in a plain manila envelope. This is a comic shop people! They came back like they've been sitting in someone's back pocket for a week. When I wrote to complain (and not even ask for a refund), the guy was more than impolite, bordering on hostile, and was schooling me in "how to ship comics." Preaching to the choir, my man.

I discovered these listings last night and was fascinated.

Really puts things in perspective given that I was actively collecting in 1991-1993.

And I bought 30+ NM Shadowman # 1s in a lot via eBay before, but it's been a long time since I've seen someone offering 50+ copies of XO # 1 in one go.

So many questions about the listings as a whole -- where are the bulk Eternal Warrior 4s? The less common VVSS books? The Youngblood 1s? The WildCATs? The Rai 1s? Why is there no Batman? (You'd expect bulk lots of 492, 500, etc.). Why X-Force 1 in bulk but no NM 100?

But I also feel like this board has concentrated a huge percentage of early Valiants to an extent larger than what was available in 1993-1994. Like -- I bet there are more than a dozen of us who have amassed hordes of 50+ copies of pre-unity and incentive keys, each.

Wow, that is a super gamble. Reminds me of the time on the CGC forum and some guy bought a huge lot (100+) books of the latest image craze. I'm pretty sure it was Manifest Destiny for $50 or so...don't know how that turned out, can't see how the buyer of those NYX books will come ahead...

That's unfortunate....I can't say I'm surprised that the grading wouldn't be over-stated, you have 70+ copies of a book ad each one is NM?! Not even one is a VF, cmon?! And there's so many buyers out there that buy into this.

I'll say the X-O lot will go for under $1000.

For bulk sale, I would certainly hope so.

What I am also wondering is how many of these lots would sell for more if he had listed them over the course of a few months?

Someone who would seriously want to buy 50+ copies of X-O #1 would probably also seriously want to buy 50+ copies of Shadowman #1, but would all those bidders have the cash for full bids on both or will some bidders be choosing or limiting their bids hoping to win both?

Now, this could be because I don't collect a great deal of VH1 stuff, but did Solar Man of the Atom have coupons inside? The price guide lists the Harbinger ones, but nothing with Solar...

I think Porky's purchased a collection from a hoarder, and decided to unload everything as soon as possible. Could also be that it was a consignment job, and with consignments, the consignor is benefited from moving product fast as opposed to maximizing the sale price.

I didn't look too closely at what's on offer, but I would imagine there are a few of us that have collections like this. I used to, but pared down a lot to focus on just a few copies at most (raw, slabbed, signed). That doesn't mean it isn't noteworthy. It certainly is, but the way it's being deacquisitioned is unfortunate, especially as prices seem to be down from a year ago on key books.

I'm not aware of solar coupons, but I hope it discourages bidding.

he stated in the nyx # 3 auction that he bought a huge lot he called it vault style i think it was and he needed to unload to recoup his money back....but he also hinted that 6500 was what he needed

No coupons were in Solar.
