My max bid is in, although I don't suspect I'll win. Too many Valiant Fans to compete with!
Re: EBAY AUCTION: Unity #1 Golden Ticket - 07 - 14 Feb
Don't think I will have any chance to win anyway, but should mention that the Global Shipping Program is considered by many as a scam. For instance, in your auction they seem to charge 25% import fees for shipping to Sweden, but of that only 12% goes to Swedish customes (or in some rare cases 0% when customs just let a package through). The rest is pocketed by eBay. That extra charge will of course mean that people bid less than what they would without the GSP. Ie, you get less and eBay gets more.

But if you do win, we will find a way to ship better than them. Unlike eBay, I like Sweeden.

Good to know on global shipping. I've had people ask me how much it would cost for me to ship off eBay, and for some folks, eBay is actually cheaper than me paying retail rates via the USPS.

4 hours down and already almost at $700. I wonder what price it will hit before the usual bidding lull.

Good luck to the winner of this book. I WISH I had the money or the luck to purchase such a book. It won't happen but I'm praying that this book goes to a fan who will truly cherish and keep it

I specifically stated in the description that only those who understand its value and/or significance should bid.JonesyAZ wrote:Good luck to the winner of this book. Agreed Whenever we sell our collection, I guess there's always the chance that the book(s) will be had specifically for profit later on. Can't control it. This is why there are some books I can just NEVER part with.DirtbagSailor wrote:

Re: EBAY AUCTION: Unity #1 Golden Ticket - 07 - 14 Feb
I am confused.
People do not know how to bid, why are people bidding so early?
7 day auction, what's the rush? If you give people a chance to dwell over your bid, they may raise theirs.
Its only money, but don't make yourself spend more than you need to.
Biding early on a deadline is showing your hand.
Just don't get it.

Re: EBAY AUCTION: Unity #1 Golden Ticket - 07 - 14 Feb
That's only true if you assume that bidders are putting in a best and final. There are lots of bidding strategies. Sniping is one that works well if there is not a lot of interest in an item. If there is a lot of attention, aggressive bidding is another. I think this book will sell for whatever the two highest bidders will pay, regardless of when they are placed. Sort of like buying a house.

Maybe they can drive the price up
