This is going to calm down, right?
The prices on the 1:20 and 1:50 are going up, up, up...way out of the range I'm comfortable with paying. This is going to calm down eventually, right?

Exactly what I said about Harbinger 1 in 1992. I was right, but not until 1995.tchalla8 wrote:The prices on the 1:20 and 1:50 are going up, up, up...way out of the range I'm comfortable with paying. This is going to calm down eventually, right?

The problem is, I don't know who's buying. There are board members here with multiple copies, so it's possible they are buying extras to possibly speculate on. But with 600-700 copies, and three times as many board members here, the influx of demand might keep these propped up....it's hard to say where this will go. The fact that this price has gone up this fast, so quickly is staggering to say the least.tchalla8 wrote:The prices on the 1:20 and 1:50 are going up, up, up...way out of the range I'm comfortable with paying. I suggest picking up the 1:20 variant. The divergence in prices between the two has to come in at some point, so if you can nab those anywhere south of $20, especially around $15 it's quite a bargain! And you're providing a hedge to yourself by buying the underpriced book. If you feel you're overpaying the 1:50 for 150-200 (if you commit to buying it there, i'm not suggesting you necessarily do it), that way your total cost for both variants come down if you can sell the cheaper one for a gain.MarrowMan wrote:Not in time to get the QR signed.tchalla8 wrote:The prices on the 1:20 and 1:50 are going up, up, up...way out of the range I'm comfortable with paying. Very surprising. I can't see this as a $200 book, but maybe.
When Valiant is publishing the best written books for a few years and people are trying to get them all...... maybe this stays where it is.
Can you imagine Paradise, he had a STACK of these.

Same with that guy listing those sets at $89....I think the smart retailers aren't going to speculate on these and hold them. They have their price points, with i'm sure a detailed business plan. The retailers that try to hoard and speculate are the ones that go out of business.Elveen wrote:Very surprising. I can't see this as a $200 book, but maybe.

I love the Aja cover. Dying to own one. But I'm not paying $30 for it, and they are starting to creep towards that number.
