this guy went through a lot of trouble for a bunch of books that are not really worth anything...check out the webpage that has a picture of every single book....also 15.27 for shipping how did he come up with that?...also i was scanning ebay for some valiant lots....and I noticed how much I hate when the person says "HUGE VALIANT LOT" and it is 4 copies random books...gee that is huge....musta been a guy that listed it :D

musta been a guy? are you a chick?

how do you know that those are worthless books?
i only saw harbinger 19 photographed...of course if that's the best book in the lot...i would never buy a lot that didn't tell me at least the majority of the books.

have you seen those auctions for rai number 1 plus 50 others. etc. what a joke!

No not a chick just understand how some guys are.....I knew that someone was going to say something like that right after I posted it....anyway if you click the link that says something "list of 78 valiants" or something like that. It is right above the picture of the harbinger. You will notice that none of the books are of note...mostly junk commons...I mean if he gets 20 plus the shipping that would be right on par with what they are worth....also I was saying that he put a lot of time into that auction and it is not really going to return that much. If you would have looked at the link to the 78 books then you would know what I am talking about...he created a web page with 78 pictures on it for each book and then each book linked to another page....so he created about 80 web pages for this one auction....sound like a good idea to you?
have you seen those auctions for rai number 1 plus 50 others. etc. what a joke!
dont really understand what this means. yes I have seen lots like that....hell I bought one a couple of weeks ago...rai 1-5 and 27-33 or something like that...it was a great buy for me...maybe a joke for the seller...

the rai #1 plus 50 others auctions says, you get rai number 1 (which is great) and their "random selection" of fifty other books (no dupes!) but so what? tell me what you're offering and maybe i'll buy it, but i don't need 50 books that i can get for a 1/4, just because i'd like another rai #1.

i understand exactly what you mean about the time etc. on these auctions. i try to spend enough time describing the comic and what not, just so the buyer will be sure that i know what i am talking about, and that i know what i'm selling... (i.e. harbinger #1!-photo shows harbinger FILES #1) but i try not to go overboard either.
some people put 5 pictures in their auction, which as far as i know you have to pay for, and then start the bidding at 1 cent! if you're paying e-bay a certain amount, shouldn't you make sure that your auction is going to AT LEAST sell for that cost?!?! i mean, that makes obvious business sense right? not to mention that there had to be some amount that you originally paid to get the book. i don't understand some of these people.

they usually try to make all their money in the shipping!

The word 'huge' should be banned by eBay from any auction containing less than (A) 50 individual items, or (B) 25 sq. ft of 'stuff'.

RE: bidding on auctions of random crap just to get the one you want...I've done that a couple times, bought the auction for such and such a price, then picked the 2-3 books that I wanted and told them to keep and give away the other 10-15 or so.....because those 10-15 can be obtained for LESS in person than the cost of additional shipping they add on, if I REALLY wanted them.

Hard sell, hard sell, hard sell. I HATE....DESPISE...people who feel the need to hard sell SO much they resort to lying.

'one of the best deals you ever got'? Who is he kidding? $20 for this lot would be a GOOD deal. $50 is STANDARD for a 'boxed' set that's no longer boxed, and all the books aren't NM.

Why do people need to lie to sell their crap? Why do people need to spout nonsensical baloney that 1.5 TIMES the AVERAGE SELLING PRICE of this set is 'one of the best deals you ever got'.....?

WHY?

Wow, I had to go back to page 17 to find this thread, I guess no one has been too shameful recently. Check out this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 52348&rd=1

A little bit over Valiant guide? I know this book is extremely tough, but are there even 750 people who want a complete with variants set of Shadowman Volume 3?

I don't understand how he can research the book on this site...
Find out that there are about 750 copies... and that they're VALUED
at about $20... and then put $350 on his auction. $35, maybe... $350?

I can't believe this guy found a buyer, it wasn't sold at auction but someone bought it from his store items. Crazy, crazy, crazy!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 77241&rd=1

Those of you who have this book should be excited to know you now hold a $400.00 book. Wish I hadn't sold mine!

Mercy, I may have to stop by all of the comic shops in Albuq to see if they have this in their 50 cent bins. A sale like this could help with my last semester in the fall. Whew, unbelievable!!

Don't you love a guy who says "This is an investment grade comic and I would tell those few that own it to hang on to it ... "

Oh, you mean the one you just sold? :P

A Shadowman Vol. 3 #2 sold for $399.00

NO WAY! I seen this auction listing but I thought it was someone on this board playing a joke.
That has to be one the all time biggest buyer "gotta have it" blunders for Valiant I have ever seen. Money must be falling out of the trees in this guy's backyard. The seller must have hi-fived himself all the way to the bank.

Well, it is the variant cover, so it is a rare book, but it shouldn't have gone for that price. Greg has the print run of that variant being only 750 copies, so it's probably the most limited intended variant out of all the Valiant/Acclaim books. Only Bloodshot #0 Platinum is supposed to be more rare, and it wasn't an intended variant.

The seller has left positive feedback for the buyer's quick payment...
I guess this transaction actually took place.

That doesn't seem that unreasonable to me (the Armorines auction). I mean, you are getting two golds (which are listed at $27 in the guide) and the card stock version (which is listed as about $50). So that is over $100 "guide value". I didn't look to see what kind of condition they were in, or how much shipping was, but the prices, while not a discount, don't seem high (assuming if the guide is basically what people are paying on Ebay).

I didn't think you could copy and paste info from this website onto an EBAY auction....can you? That's kinda low-rent.
