CLA wrote:Thank the Lord. The forum is back. Hey, all. I got some new Valiant books and I've to catch up on the reading. And I'm extremely glad that I have a place to post my comments on them. Greg, I can honeslty say that this is one of the finest sites on the net.

Now, gentlemen, let us raise our glasses...To Greg, the website, Valiant, and fans everywhere...a toast!
Man, I sound like a happy drunk. So allow me to rephrase:

I started collecting Valiant since last year. I purchased Alpha & Omega from the bargain bin in the back of the comics shop. After I read it, I was so suprised that I had gotten much, much more for my money.

And yet, that was not my first encounter with Valiant.
Many years ago, I purchased a bunch from a dollar store for my school project. $.25 each. I cut them up, pasted what I needed for my project, and got a 70. It wasn't a very good project. The comics, as I remember, were H.A.R.D. Corps. I now know why I didn't like the Valiant as a youngin'. I found the color to be unattractice to my eyes (now keep in mind, I was a kid back then). Strange thing that I didn't appreciate them. The reason? I was into Superman then. Lighter stories. As I got older, I noticed that Superman was always the same. The stories were decent, but with Time Warner's control over the character, nothing interesting can be done with him anymore. He is a marketable character. That's it. He's done. Not to say that I don't love Superman, but nothing can be done to make him the refreshing character he once was. I needed something new.

I got to my comic store, I explore the bargian bin (something they call the Box o' Shame).
I find Alpha & Omega. The cover didn't tell me anything, but it was half-off, so I said, "What the hey?" (Well, I didn't necessarily say that out loud and to myself, because, as I've noticed, talking to one's self in not funny, but creepy.)

And so...

As a new Valiant fan, the first thing I thought about after reading Alpha & Omega was to talk to somebody. To tell him the gem I had found. Thanks to the search engine, I simply key "VALIANT." And I find VALIANTComics.com. I had found another gem. I was overwhelmed by the quantity of information available to me. I knew nothing of Solar's or Valiant's past, and everything I ever desired to query was here. Clear, free, and open to me. Me. A Valiant Novice. But this site had more. A forum. For me to talk to people who had read the same gem as I. This gem, A&O, offered more than excellent read. It offered a portal to a universe I had never seen before. And a portal to new friends. Other Valiant fans. Like me. A portal to this site, which offers me with so much information on every Valiant need I may have. So I thank the man behind this site, Greg, for his laudable work and effort of not only making this one of the best websites in the world wide web, but for creating the only place for all fans to unite and celebrate Valiant. I also would like to thank all the Valiant Forum members for showing me around on what is Valiant and keeping the memory of it going strong.

To everyone, thank you.
