Still Valiant after all these years.

Post by AaronofDacia »

The first thing that drew me to Valiant comics in the early 90's was the brilliant art work. It seemed to jump off the covers on the racks and told a story without ever having to be picked up and read. With that being said once I did start reading them i was unable to put them down as the writing to me was second to none in the industry at the time. While I tried to read as many titles as I could being a high school student with a minimum wage job, collecting every title was just not in my budget. I had to narrow it down to my favorite books that I simply could not live without which were X-O Manowar and The Eternal Warrior. Even after enlisting in the United States Army and traveling all over the world I was still in contact with my local comic shop every week to make sure my subscriptions came in. I was heartbroken to say the least when Vol. 1 ended and Vol. 2 began. At first I was unwilling to accept this change but still continued to follow the story arcs until the inevitable collapse. Only as I got older did I appreciate the Vol. 2 era for what it was and would have given anything to have it back rather than nothing at all. My dream came true with the launch of Vol. 3 in 2012. I am happy to say I am very pleased to see the direction and foresight that goes into the making of these new books, paying respects to the old while leaving just the right amount of room to add to the mythos. I will be a Valiant fan for life in any incarnation it happens to take.

Welcome to the boards! It's fun here.

Great story. I'm very glad you are not Canadian so that I can recruit you to the Anti-Canadian army of the boards. We shall fight the apologetics and *SQUEE* ham-disguised-as-bacon antics of the Canadian members here such as the loser MarkRoseHFX and the braggart hawkeyeps. :kidaround:

Seriously though, check this thread out to win some swag for not having many posts! What a great way to start your time here!

Scratch that, you don't qualify. Stupid rules.

Had to Google that. Never could get into the Office because I had never worked in a structured office place like that before. My current employment is very similarly aligned, so I should give it another try.

Emphasis mine- Do it, man! It's so good. I had some problems at first with it, because the OG series is VERY good. 3 or 4 episodes in, I could not care less about Ricky Gervais. :D 8-)
And welcome to these boards, Aaron! :thumb:

 I tend to scan this area a lot less frequently than the main Valiant discussion area or the Marvel/DC section... As for down time over the holidays - no such luck, I'm even working on Christmas Eve/Day & Boxing Day! :o
