The ordinary road to awe

Hey there I'm new to these boards, I'm a long time X-O MANOWAR reader. I picked it up when the series first started, stuck with it until Acclaim starting to muck with it. I got into comics when Image started, I was a huge Wildstorm fan until the end. I still cringe at seeing the characters in DC. Outside of Wildstorm books I only bought one title (JLA from DC, X-MEN from Marvel, and X-OMANOWAR from Valiant) of each major publisher, yes I consider Valiant at the time to be a major player in the business.

After the fall of Crossgen (another great publisher) I started dialing back my enthusiasm for comics and I only bought trades that piqued my interest. I took a hiatus from comics all together when Wildstorm closed doors. a year or two later I got right back into it when I bought a tablet and started browsing the comixology app. I bought a lot of Image titles. My tastes have matured abit as I enjoy books like LAZARUS, THE WALKING DEAD, SAGA, ALEX+ADA, and EAST WEST. I snatched up the new X-O MANOWAR when I saw it and liked it so much I decided to dive deep into the rest of the offerings. I'm excited and thankful that this new Valiant has renewed my interest in what I like to refer to as a continuity-verse. Most titles I read are self-contained, but my heart always yearns for a line of books in a universe following a epic storyline. Valiant has always been that and I truly hope it remains so.

I probably should've clarified, I still own my old X-O MANOWAR comics, they are sealed away. I've read them a dozen times. I've also have bought just about everything that Valiant has put out on comixology app, so I am all caught up. I'm enjoying the Armor Hunters storyline, although I have my nitpicks about it but I won't comment here.

Welcome to the boards . It's fun here as long as you steer clear of the Canadians like MarkRoseHFX. :kidaround:

Belated welcome! I also love that Valiant is around with a 'continuity-verse' - it's my go-to for my superhero fix (but even better as it is a more mature, less stereotypical 'superhero' universe). I'm also heavy into Image books these days aside from Valiant, you've listed some mighty fine titles there. East Of West & Lazarus are two of my top favourites right now as well. :thumb:
