My Valiant Story told from a Non Valiant Perspective
Hello Valiant Peeps,
It has been awhile since I made the promise to come here and tell "My Valiant Story!" but here I am! So where do I start? It all began in a Mexican Restaurant in Phoenix, AZ. My wife wanted to have lunch because she wanted me to meet someone who she thought I might like. We got there and I gotta tell ya I immediately knew we were going to be friends. In fact I remember telling him, "You know I'm a pretty good judge of character and you're pretty f#$ked up! We're going get along just fine!" HAHAHA Who would've known that would be the first day of our friendship and we have been best friends for about 10 years now. If you are wondering who I am speaking about it is the one and only Jonesy! THE ULTIMATE VALIANT FAN!!! If you are a fan of the PODCAST you know Jonesy is into Valiant like no other! Well beside his co-hosts! I mean he is so into Valiant that I actually found myself calling him up when I found old Valiant Books. They were so cheap... I would buy them for him only to find out that he had 6 copies of that issue. One year I went San Diego Comic Con but Jonesy couldn't make it. He had asked me as a favor and attend Only the Valiant Podcast for him. I scoured the exhibit floor and I remember when I found Chiclo and Sean. The first thing I had said was do you guys know Jonesy!? Without hesitation they yelled, "YEA WE DO!" It was an incredible time and glad to have done that for Jonesy. This was prior to him writing the theme song for the Podcast and becoming a host on the show. I believe that is episode #156 but I could be wrong! I know a lot of you only know Jonesy from the show and boards but he is one of the most talented guys I know. My kids call him Uncle Jonesy since they were babies. To this day they actually think we are brothers! We've gone as far a making a comic strip together called La Strange, AZ. We are the main characters. Maybe Ill create another post and put some of the strips on there for you guys! Anyways this is "MY VALIANT STORY!" and Im sticking to it! Long Live Only the Valiant PODCAST!!! O and I love TUROK and XO Manawar!

Welcome to the boards. It's fun here as long as you steer clear of the Canadians.
If you're friends with Jonesy, then you must be good people.
We already have a rasta Jedi, and now we have a Native American Jedi!

Yes, ApacheJedi is indeed one of the coolest dudes I know and is my best friend second to my wife, of course...lol ("Work Wife")
Jacques failed to mention a few important tidbits in his intro. One...his influence in getting me to go to SDCC back in 2008 is not only what got me back into comics-proper, but led me to buying that cheap long-box of Valiant books on Craigslist that started my Valiant craze!
Two...he is a downright talented artist and creator in his own right...single-handed lay responsible for firing off the resurrection of Tribal Force and a renaissance of new Native American comics here in the Southwest! Jacques has his own book called "Shadow Wolf" which has thus far seen three-four issues published locally in AZ.
I guess the point I'm making here is that ApaceJedi is indeed good peeps and is my Valiant Spirit Guide who inspires me to always remember to be creative and to stay connected with why I love comics.
On another note...we need to get Jacques into Valiant! I have tried to get him to read the good old school VH1 stuff and while he has read some early Turok, his experience besides has been VEI X-O, which he loves. Any recommendations for the Jacques Man?

Unity and Rai would be my recommendations. I can't believe anyone wouldn't like those books.JonesyAZ wrote:Yes, ApacheJedi is indeed one of the coolest dudes I know and is my best friend second to my wife, of course...lol ("Work Wife")

Awesome story, thanks for sharing that & a hearty welcome to a fellow creative artist. Nice to hear you are having some success publishing your own indie comic
