How A Noob Found Valiant
Well how did I find Valiant. To be honest I'm way way to young to have ever been around for either the first time out and I wasn't into comic much during the Acclaim-era. I discovered the original Valiant through of all things Wikipedia. I've always enjoyed going through and learning about new characters so the interest was there. Sadly I never lived near a comicbook store so trying to find old copies was difficult. So when the relaunch was announced I looked very closely at it and so far I've been fairly impressed with the books. I've enjoyed what I've read more than I've enjoyed Marvel and DC. Since moving to a larger city I've got access to comic book stores and even stores that sell trades and I've been lucky to pick up an original copy of the first X-O trade from the first Valiant.
So far my Valiant collection:
X-O Manowar: Retribution
Masters Bloodshot
My eventual plan with the recent announcement of the $9.99 price point for the first set of trades I will be getting the new X-O, Bloodshot, and Arch and Armstrong books.

Welcome! Valiant blows Marvel and DC out of the water when it comes to quality writing and art. Lots of great stuff to be had. Give Harbinger and Shadowman a shot sometime.

So far what I've seen...yes Valiant does currently blow Marvel and DC away. As for your suggestions Shadowman is on my list along with the Ninjak masters release but I've flipped through Harbinger and just can't get into it. I find the characters just unlikeable.pixierosa wrote:Welcome! Valiant blows Marvel and DC out of the water when it comes to quality writing and art. Lots of great stuff to be had.
