A n00 Valiant fan....and loving it!
Hi all
I only got back into reading and collecting comics earlier this year after giving up in my teens. My other half had been on at me to get a hobby that didn't involve going down the pub so I started reading The Walking Dead trades....and it's just spiralled from there. I'd been a fan of Watchmen for ages, as well as The League of Extarordinary Gentlemen, the Dark Horse re-boot of Solomon Kane, Hellboy, BPRD (well anything from Mignola really).
As luck would have it an old friend re-opened his comic store (Dead Universe Comics in Aylesbury - big up) and was eager to help me find more stuff I liked. He told me about the Valiant reboot and I have to confess I'd never heard of them before then so I started with the reboot of X-O and loved it.
Next thing I know I've got the complete run of Archer & Armstrong plus most of X-O and various others, including the Unity paperback. Wow...just wow. I'd always been put off by Marvel / DC and the spralling continuity that goes with their books...if you've not been into the various characters and stories for any length of time it can be a bit daunting. But...Valiant is so different. The continuity is straightforward and the characters and storytelling is superb...if not a bit dodgy later on.
So now I've got a regular pull list as long as my arm, piles of comics littering my house and lot's to do in my spare time. I'm really loving the new Valiant titles, they've all been awesome so far (particularly Archer & Armstrong #1). Can't wait for Shadowman in November.
I'm working on building up my collection of the original VH1 universe, especially X-O, A&A, Solar and Eternal Warrior. I've even gone so far as to pick up a few of the Dark Horse reboots that Jim Shooter wrote a couple of years ago.
I've released my inner geek and I couldn't be happier!

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.
In addition, I'm right.
