My MisAdventure...

I have to be honest. When Valiant first came out I was like "Eh, ..Nevermind." Everything I collected had to have either an "X" in it's title or a flaming skull as the lead character.

It wasn't until after the Acclaim reboots came out that I really started buying anything Valiant, at least by that time I was no longer buying everything with an "X" in the title. For the most part I enjoyed the Acclaim reboots, I think mainly due to not being too familiar with the original Valiants to make comparisons by.

After a while I bought the Unity & Chaos Effect crossovers and found out I really enjoyed the originals alot and so I began to collect them. However years and multiple moves have seen my entire collection dwindle away, but now I am back on track to reacquiring alot of them.

So far I have very nearly completed out the Acclaim Valiants and with the help of the resident Mr Topper I am well on my way.

**Thanks Again Steve!**

The Acclaim Valiants have always had a special place with me, if you want to know why dig out your X-O #5 and check in the back. :hm:

Once I am done with the Acclaims I will be completing out my Malibu Genesis line. (Actually I hated the fact they combined all those titles into that line, but what can a collector do?) Then I plan on beginning the task of collecting the original Valiants.

I got a feeling that I may be in for a long daunting task ahead of me with that one.

Welcome.

Interesting that you passed on Valiant in the early years, but got into the Acclaim stuff (I think that may a first for the board).

Yeah I just picked up a Philly Con Exclusive Genesis Ashcan off of Ebay pretty cheap - this is the only time I ever seen one and was stoked when I won it.

Bruce,

Good luck with the collection! I've really been enjoying the "thrill of the hunt" of chasing down the original Valiant universe stuff.

To further frustrate the Genesis line, several companies printed comics featuring those characters starting in the mid-80s, like the Ex-Mutants, Dinosaurs for Hire and several of the characters featured in the Protectors.
