Ricomortis testimony to the big V
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....
I began collecting comics when TMNT was on issue 2. That led me to marvel and DC. Used to be a big Punisher fan, when I picked up ASM 300 and Sandman #1. However, as marvel and DC began to lose their character for characters, I bought Magnus. After a few issues, I was hooked and bought every issue (all series) that came out and could find within a 100 mile radius. People thought I was a freak. Aw well..those are the ones I sold copies to for $100 each a few months later.
Well, college called as Valiant began their stretch o' junk, and I just lost interest. Besides, how many college students have $?. I already had all the copies I wanted of pre-unity (lower print runs and great stories) that I could keep packed into my closet. Life then happened....you know...first came the baby, then came marriage, wait....is that right?
Now with plenty of $ and time, I re-discover the big V. I was searching the web for actual information on Valiant print runs when I ran into that interview with Greg which led me to this site. Then Ebay? I am bummed that I missed the hay day of dirt cheap valiants. Man, what I'd give to have participated in those days. Oh well...anyway...so here I am grinning ear to ear looking for more valiants....so please...help me feed my need and donate all quality condition issues to P.O Box....lol
Basically, in a nutshell....I collected Valiant while everyone else was buying multiple copies of *insert your favorite 90's gimick here*. I truly think that collecting comics set me up and prepared me for my obsession with trading stocks. I am glad that now in turn, my trading obsession can now benefit my comic collecting.
Hope to get to know you all.
