My long story!
My Valiant story is similar to ones you might have heard before. I have been buying comics off and on since I was little kid. I remember my Mother buying me my first comic in 1979 at the age of 5. It was an Amazing Spider-Man and I was hooked. Growing up in the 80's I was a huge fan of both Transformers and G.I. Joe comics.
One day I walked into a local comic shop and the owner started telling me about this new company called Valiant and how it was so different from both Marvel and DC. He suggested that I take a look at it. I of course didn't and missed out on months of great comics. What finally got my attention was Rai #0 and I was an instant fan. I tried to buy as many back issues as I could but the HUGE Valiant explosion had already taken place and being a kid in High School, and working for my Father meant I had little to no money to get those great reads! I read the TPB's and bought all the new issues as they came out.
Fast forward to 2007, I'm married with 2 kids. One day I'm messing around on Ebay, which I had never bought from, and I get
the idea to look up Harbinger #1. Not only did I find it (with the coupon) I won it for $1.38! Off of that 1 purchase I began my interest in comics again and it was all directed at Valiant.
A few years have past now and I am doing something I never thought I'd be able to do. I am working on a Master Set of Valiant comics, and I'm missing mostly just middle run issues. I quickly bought all the Pre-Unity issues, some golds, vvss, Hardcovers, rings, prints, and last issues. One of the most important things though has been finding this website. This site has informed me on print runs, rarity, and other Valiant items that I never knew existed. I can honestly say that in all my years of buying and reading comics I have never had this much fun!!
